From the Pastor:
A warm welcome to all who are worshiping with us today.  A special welcome to Eric King and Mike Dodge who have been with us over the weekend as Consultants invited by us to review the work we are doing.  This morning Eric will be preaching.  Immediately following the service we will be having a shared lunch in the back hall.  This will be followed by Eric and Mike giving us their summary of where they see we are at followed by their recommendations for the future.  We hope as many as possible will be able to join us for this important time.
On Wednesday May 2 the Team Leaders will meet at Shirley Ninds at 7.30 p.m.
On Sunday May 6 we will meet for prayer in the church lounge at 7 p.m.

The first edition of the church Prayer Letter has gone out to all those who requested it.  If you are keen to be kept informed of the prayer needs of the fellowship, but haven' put your name down, give Janice Thorpe a ring.  The next edition is due out next Sunday.

There is a
new edition of the church phone directory available in the church foyer.  Please make sure you get your copy.  One per family please.

Miriam Craig is working towards her Queens Service Award at Girls Brigade.  For part of it she will be making and selling cheese rolls for $4 per dozen.  Please ring her on 434 9241 to give her your order.  She will let you know when they will be ready for pick up at the church.
We are getting near to the time when Angus Buchan will be here in Oamaru (Queens Birthday weekend).  There are 6 churches joining together to sponsor this series of meetings - Elim, Salvation Army, Union Parish, Weston, Christian Life Centre and Baptist.  This will be a very important time in the history of North Otago as we are believing for many changed lives.  There are 3 very inspiring books about Angus Buchan currently floating around the church family, we are hoping that everyone will get a chance to read a copy before he arrives so, if you have a copy, let Janet know as soon as you have read it and she can pass it on to someone else.  The most important thing we can do now is to pray for the organisers as we get things into place.  We are currently working on promotional material to be given out in a few weeks.  You could also spend time praying for friends and relatives that they would be free to come and God would touch their lives.
