| From the Pastor: A warm welcome to all who are worshiping with us today. I trust you were all able to have some kind of meaningful break during the holidays, and are feeling refreshed and renewed for the New Year that stretches before us. We can be assured it will hold its fair share of opportunities and challenges - opportunities and challenges God wants to use for His glory. This morning Sunday School recommences in the back hall. Following this mornings service there will be an opportunity given for anyone wishing to receive prayer for any needs. Tonight we will be having a time of prayer at Shirley Ninds for the life and work of this fellowship which you are most welcome to attend. Many thanks to all who responded to the questionnaire regarding our services. There were 51 responses, many of them in depth, covering many areas. I am currently collating it all into a report for the leadership for an appropriate response. There has been a good response to Robyns airfare. So far we are still about $1,300 short of the $5,500 required. If you are able to help, please put your donation in a specially marked envelope and place in the church offering. We are grateful for the recent anonymous donation of $11,298 given to the church via the BSDS. The money has been reinvested with them. It will be discussed at our next leadership meeting as to how it will be used. |
| I am currently in the process of organising a Divorce Care course to start in the near future. If you know of anyone interested please let me know. Space may be limited this time as I have been asked to include other churches. There are a number of copies of the expanded version of the church Mission and Vision Statements on the table in the foyer. If you are using the WINZ carpark on Sunday mornings please make sure you enter the church through the front doors in order to check your pigeon hole and receive any material being handed out at the door. We seem to have lost touch with our copy of the Transformation 1 video. If you have it or know where it is please let me know. Steve recently purchased a new vacuum for the church. There are now two available in the cleaning cupboard to be used. There is a copy of Robyns most recent letter available on the table in the foyer. Please remember the following in your prayers: v leadership for the Sunday School and Music & Worship Teams v wisdom as we look at the style and frequency of our services v the future of our church buildings v Sue Avis as she establishes Girls Brigade in the fellowship v those not able to worship with us on Sunday mornings - Ethel Baker, Phil Sargent, Noel Cleverley, Elsie Lockhart |
