| From the Pastor: A warm welcome to all who are worshiping with us today. This afternoon at 2.15 p.m. I will be taking the service at Whitestone Lodge. If anyone is interested in coming out to help with the singing and speaking to the residents we would love to have your fellowship. Tonight at 7 p.m. Julian and Monica Hawken will be sharing here in the church. They are missionaries in Macau who take prayer and literature teams into Tibet. They also conduct a Marriage Ministry in Macau. On Tuesday November 27, I will be in Christchurch meeting with Lindsay Jones and other pastors who have gone through the Church Consultation process to help us work our way through different issues. The church has a 28 minute video put out by the Society For the Promotion of Community Standards dealing with the results if the current bill becomes law that will decriminalise prostitution. See me if you would like to view it or show it to a group. Robyn Couper is due to return home next year so we are in the process of raising her airfares. The estimated cost is $5,000 NZ of which we have approximately $2,500 in hand. If you would like to help with this please put a specially marked envelope in the offering. Earlier this month some of you missed out on your copy of The Baptist. We have ordered extras which are in the foyer. Please help yourself if you didnt get a copy. Dave and Joy Warren are very grateful for the help and support they have received for Meals on Wheels. They now have only 3 days to fill - December 24, 27 and 28. If you can help give them a ring. |
