| From the Pastor: A warm welcome to all who are worshiping with us today. A special welcome to all Fathers on this your special day. Tonight at 7 p.m. we will be gathering for prayer for the life and work of this fellowship at Shirley Ninds place. You are most welcome to join us. During September we are having our Forward Work Appeal, a time when we focus our thoughts and prayers on Baptist work in New Zealand. This morning you will have received a copy of Growing Healthy Churches. Please use the guide as a prompt to help you pray more effectively for our nation and Baptist work in general. Also each Sunday during September we will be focusing prayer on a Baptist Church in our area. This morning we will be praying for Alexandra Baptist. The Transformation 2 video is now available to be borrowed. This is an important video as it shows how God is currently transforming cities and nations in different areas of the world. It will give fresh hope that God is able to transform our own area. If you or your group would like to view it please contact Janet Calder. We will be moving the church photocopier into Seans office shortly. If you use the copier and need a key, please make sure you see Sean or myself to make sure your name is on the list to receive one. I have lost my church key somewhere in the lounge or church hall. If anyone finds a bronze coloured church key, please return to myself as soon as possible. This is quite urgent. |
| Please remember the following people in your prayers, who arent able to get to services at the moment: Phil Sargent, Ethel Baker, Noel Cleverley, Reg Ridley, John Bundie Edwards, Stan. COMING EVENTS Wednesday September 5 the Elders will meet. Saturday September 8 we will be gathering in the church hall for our next church social with the theme 50s night. This will be a good opportunity to relax together and have some fun. Make sure you plan to be there. There is no charge but ladies are asked to bring a plate and men are asked to bring a bottle of soft drink. Sunday September 9 our Young People will be leading our service. We will also be privileged to have the Girls Brigade sharing with us in the service. The shortened service will be followed by a cup of tea in the back hall. Wednesday September 12 Deacons will meet. Please remember to get your Family Camp registrations back to Steve by Sunday September 16. The camp will be a great time to get to know one another better as well as a time to receive good spiritual food from Ron and Nancy Parker who will be speaking at the camp. There has been provision made to help anyone with camp fees that need it. See Steve or Bruce if we can help in this area. |
