The nonprofit Alternative House provides crisis intervention for teenagers
and their families via one of two programs: the emergency shelter offers
two-week stays and support services to youths aged 13 to 17; the transitional
living program helps homeless teens and young adults -- with and without
children -- find housing and other assistance as they work to achieve
self-sufficiency.  The Alternative House is located at 2136 Gallows Road,
