Vipers Celebrate
the addition of a Super Bowl Champion to its Family Tree.

Representing Oakland in Football at its highest honor, the Oakland
Vipers are celebrating the Pittsburgh Steelers SuperBowl win as
if it was our own, due to the Oakland based connection of two football
brothers from Skyline High School in Oakland.
4 Years Ago the Vipers aquired OT Lamont Smith to its squad, and with him came a quality player with a great work habits. Pro Bowl Offensive Tackle Marvell Smith of the Pittsburgh Steelers - now a Superbowl Champion is also a quality player with great work habits. Lamont and Marvell happen to be brothers and Oakland natives, proving some things do run in the family. The Vipers were fortunate enough to have Marvell at one Viper preseason practice a while back, just quietly off to the side, stopping by to see his brother. A few knew who he was and pushed a little harder in practice, knowing a NFL starting player was watching the drills. Hopefully we can get him back one day for a little pep talk, and a superbowl story or two about how hard work, dedication, commitment, and focus really does pay off in the end.

All of the Vipers join the entire Smith family in celebration of the highest achievement a football team can reach - SuperBowl Champions. The Vipers commend Marvell on his hard work and dedication, representing the east bay football alumni, proving once again that the East Bay produces some great football talent. Marvell was able to achieve the one common dream of any football player, from kids in the street playing light pole to light pole, to top players around the Nation and the World - Being a SuperBowl Champion. Through Hard work and dedication, Marvell's dream came true.
Congradulations once again from the entire Viper Football Organization as well as the entire East Bay. Read more on Marvell
