Vipers lose to Nor Cal Lawmen in the first round of the playoffs
On the bright side, this makes 7 out of the last 8 years the Vipers have made the playoffs

Going into this season the Vipers staff looked at 2005 as sort of a rebuilding year, losing both starting Qbs from 2004, one going to ARENA 3 level football and the other to an opposing team. The Vipers also lost the core of its starting O Line, with 1 moving up to Arena 3, 1 retiring to coach, one moving back east to New York, and one lineman to an opposing team. The defense saw some change with one of our the starting Lb's still at college by way of a scholarship he acquired while with the Vipers and another starting LB was still out with a knee injury, deciding to take another year off to rehab correctly.

Thru all of this the Vipers acquired excellent rookies this year filling most of the O line spots with 4 quality Linemen, but injuries to some of them hampered their ability to contribute for a complete season.
In the RB department the Vipers saw great things in 3 stellar rookies to the team, providing most of the offense this year. With the addition of a great young new TE, a couple of new starting Db's, a veteran LB who earned the starting spotlight, along with a Stellar DT injured for most of 2004, the Vipers managed to make the playoffs once again. Unfortunately their goal was cute short in the first round by a very competitive rival the Nor Cal Lawmen.

The Vipers feel in such a rebuilding year as this one, the rookies performed excellent along with the seasoned Veterans making for an exciting year anyway, accomplishing some great feats on the gridiron and once again making the playoffs.
The Vipers are already adding to the core, building a stronger team with some end of the season player acquisitions.
