Oakland United Methodist Church

Nestled on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains in southwest Virginia, is the Oakland United Methodist Church. Only five miles from both Galax and the Blue Ridge Parkway,
Oakland rests in a beautiful mountain setting. It is a medium sized Church with a small country Church personality and heart. If you visit Oakland, the beautiful scenery,
sanctuary and friendly church members, will make you feel more than welcome.

The first building was built in the midst of some large oak and chestnut trees and dedicated in October of 1881. The present building was consecrated in 1974.

Oakland is a very busy church. With around eighty different ministries, ministry events, and special services, there is something here for everyone. The congregation is
made up of  people from many different stations in life.  From business men/women and professionals, to house wives and the retired, they can all be found at Oakland.

If you live in the Galax area or are visiting, please be sure to stop by Oakland and worship with us.
