Forget-Me-Not Victorian Day is a fundraiser for Oakdale Memorial Gardens, a not-for-profit  historic cemetery in Davenport, Iowa.  The 2009 event is scheduled for Saturday, September 12 from 1 to 5 p.m.  

*Rain date will be the following Sunday, September 13*

 

 

Admission:



$5.00 Adults

$3.00 Children (age 6 to 15)

FREE for children 5 and under

 

 

Featured Events:

 

- Guided walking tours of "living epitaphs" (Actors portraying historical figures buried in the cemetery)

- Refreshments and more!!

-Mabel Heath Palmer - "The First Lady of Chiropractic

-Joseph & William Bettendorf - owners of Bettendorf Company, namesakes of City of Bettendorf

-Alfred C. Mueller - lawyer, Davenport mayor

-William Theophilus - Iowa state legislator, district judge

-William D. Peterson - built LeClaire Park bandshell

-Washington Freeman Peck - founder of University of Iowa Medical School

-James Edward Lindsay - lumber magnate, namesake of Davenport's Lindsay Park

-Parke T. Burrows - architect, designed Davenport Central High School

-Mel Foster, Sr. - Mel Foster Company Real Estate
