| Saturday, November 27, 1999 at 01:43 PM (CST) Hi, well sorry we missed the update yesterday! It was a busy day. Jordyn is doing MUCH BETTER!!!!! She will be returning to the BMT unit any time now! Her BP is normal, no fever, and she is actually getting her ANC and WBC her ANC actually dropped from yesterday, it was 100, and today it's 41. Her WBC is .5 yesterday it was .1, it's normal for it to go and down, praobably in the next week it will start rising really nicely. Our friend we met at Ft. Riley Kandice and her daughter Adelia are here with us. Kandice and I were pregnant at the same time, Jordyn is 2 1/2 months older. AND my parents are here, they arrived last night, and are with Jordyn at this moment. Thank you all for your many prayers for Jordyn, they were answered, please keep sending them. Sunday, November 28, 1999 at 11:12 AM (CST) Hi well Jordyn is feeling really, really good. She is so happy that her Grandpa and Grandma are here. They have been able to get her to laugh and smile better than either Chad or I. We don't know what her counts are today, yet, we should know later this afternoon. She has an infection in her intestines, so she is still on the anti-biotics, and she can't eat or drink anything, which we call NPO, they are going to do an ultra-sound on her stomach and if the sores are looking better she can at least start drinking water. Please keep Jordyn in your prayers, she is going in the right direction, just pray she continues to. Sunday, November 28, 1999 at 06:33 PM (CST) Hi, well I did an update earlier today, and we now have her counts! THEY went up again!!! Her WBC is .1 and her ANC is 100. Please don't be alarmed if they continue to go up and down, that is normal. Please keep praying that they do keep going up, her new marrow is starting to work, we are sure of that, but we do still need your prayers. Monday, November 29, 1999 at 02:51 PM (CST) Well we have great news! Jordyns' white blood cell count (WBC) is coming up, it was 0.1, today it is 0.4 and her ANC went from 100 to 356!She is happy and playing and just overall feeling good! WE want to thank you all for praying for Jordyn, and sending her love, those prayers are being answered. Continue the prayers, we still have a long ways to go, but it is just starting and we know we still have a ways to go.Please if you can send Jordyn cards, she loves them and we hang them on her door. Her address to the hospital is on the main page of this. Tuesday, November 30, 1999 at 12:54 PM (CST) Jordyn's counts are as follows: WBC:0.7, and ANC:650. They are planning on doing another ultrasound on her colon on Friday, to see if it's improving and/or is better, if it is then she will be allowed to eat some baby cereal to start off, and we'll go from there. They told me this morning that there is a possibility that she may get to leave in 2 weeks. We are not goingto get too excited until it actually happens, and she is in the car on her way down the road, but it is nice to know that they think she will be home for Christmas. Please continue to send up your prayers. Wednesday, December 01, 1999 at 12:32 PM (CST) Every day, we just keep getting better news! Jordyns' counts are rising even more! Her WBC is at 1.6 and her ANC is at 1536!!!! We are blessed and very thankful. We are amazed with just how strong Jordyn is, she is such an amazing little girl, and we are so proud of her. Please keep praying for Jordyn. We would also like to ask everyone to prayer for 2 very special friends of Jordyns'. Christopher Hargrave is here with Jordyn in the BMT unit, and had is transplant a week and 1 day before Jordyn. It looks like his new marrow did not take, there are a few cells in him, but they do not know if it is the new marrow or his old one. Please send out prayers for this little boy and his mom and dad, Sonia and Gary. Also, Torey M. has leukemia and relapsed a few weeks ago. she had a transplant a year ago, and she relapsed in her spinal fluid. They are not giving her parents too much hope, and they need one. Torey has been an inspiration to us, and her parents Patty and Eric are looking for a miracle. Torey is a very brave little girl, and she may be getting a experimental drug, and have to have 2 spinal taps a week for this drug. They are scared right now, and need all the support they can get. Please send out special prayers and ask for a miracle for these 2 little, special people. Thank you Thursday, December 02, 1999 at 03:15 PM (CST) jordyns' counts are great her white blood cell count is 2.9and her ANC is 2639 she is doing great! She is taking a nap, first one in days! She is still pretty happy, she stood and put stickers up on her paper that is on the bathroom door, for 20 minutes, that was her physical therapy today. She is getting un-hooked for 4 hours now, that started last night. They unhook her at 6pm to 10pm. Our friends little boy, Christopher that I wrote about yesterday, will get a 2nd transplant tomorrow, please send out prayers for him. They have a web-site set up for him, it is" www.caringBridge.com/dc/hargraves Please go and sign his web-site and send them your prayers. Thank you to Joni, Charlie, Wendy, and David Jordyn LOVED the cards!!!!She talked and looked at them for a long time!!!! Friday, December 03, 1999 at 11:03 AM (CST) Jordyn is just getting better and better, her counts are great! Her WBC is 4.9 and her ANC is 4500!!!!!!She is playing with her grandma and grandpa right now, they are playing with playdough and fake food, and a school house!!!! Mommy and Daddy are getting a nice break. She had her ultrasound this morning, but we still do not know the results, I am praying that they are good so she can start to eat again. For Jordyn to be released, she must be eating 1/2 her normal calories, and drinking. She also can not need more than 2 transfusions, of blood or plateletts in a week. She has been needing plateletts quite a bit, so please pray that Jordyns' body starts to produce her own. Please send out a special prayer for Christopher Hargrave, he will be having his 2nd BMT today. Pray that it works. Saturday, December 04, 1999 at 10:51 AM (CST) Jordyns' WBC is 6.3 nad her ANC is 5859! She is doing great, and spending time with Grandma and Grandpa before they have to leave this evening. We want to send out a special thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for flying out here and being with us. We have a meeting on Monday with the drs. to discuss any questions we have and to discuss discharge. I didn't think it would be happening already, or that we could even think about discharge so soon!!!! We thank all of you for your support and prayers, they mean so much to us. Jordyn is a miracle, as are all children, but we treasure her much, much more. I can't say that I am happy that she had leukemia, (HAD!!!!!) but I know that we have definately grown from it. I hope all of you who read this and have children take them in your arms and hug them and tell them how much you love them, do it everyday, because none of us knows what tomorrow may bring, and you never want to think that you didn't tell them that you loved them enough, you can NEVER say "I LOVE YOU!" enough. I know that if anything happens to me or to Jordyn she knows that I love her, and that is all that matters. Keep sending her your prayers and LOVE. Sunday, December 05, 1999 at 10:50 AM (CST) Things just keep getting better, now lets pray I didn't just jinx us!!! Jordyns' WBC is 9.9!!!!!!!Her ANC is 8712!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!She doesn't need plateletts or blood, and she ATE!!!!!They brought her in jello and a popcicle, she wouldn't eat it, so I asked her if she wanted some cereal, baby rice, and she ate a whole bowl, and at least 2 ounces of water!!!!! We are definaltey on the right track. Our prayers are being answered, GOD is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please keep sending out your prayers for Jordyn, we love all of you. Monday, December 06, 1999 at 03:39 PM (CST) Hi well it looks like Dec. 15, next Wed. Jordyn will be going HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her ANCis over 15,000 and her WBC is 15.6! They are taking her off the GCSF which helps produce WBC and her WBC will drop, but that is normal. We now just have to get the house the once over, clean the rugs and lysol all the walls, volunteers are Wanted for the job! :) Well, Jordyn is wanting me, so I will go. Thank you all for your many prayers, and well wishes, and love, please keep sending them, we are almost past this one milestone, and we still have another one to go by. Please keep praying for Christopher. And a congrats to the Allen family on the arrival of Jade Lee! Tuesday, December 07, 1999 at 09:18 PM (CST) Hi well Jordyns'counts dropped like we knew they would, she was taken off the GCSF yesterday, now her WBC is 7.6 and her ANC is 7,220. She was very cuddely all day with me, and finally perked up this evening. The TPN which is the tube feeding, is being reduced, and she is eating more. She ate scrambled eggs and ruffles and drank a lot of water today. She is doing really good, and we are all very happy with her progress. Please keep sending your prayers and love for Jordyn A special thank you to the Pasleys' and to Aunt Marjie and Uncle Donnie for the gifts! Christopher is doing very well, no counts yet but his spirit is still up!Continue to pray for him please, along with our friend Torey. Wednesday, December 08, 1999 at 01:09 PM (CST) Jordyns' counts are still dropping, which the drs told us they will do and they could drop more before they start coming back up, so no one worry! Her WBC is 4.0, and her ANC is 3,200. She is getting plateletts today, but she is doing great! She ate half a bage with cream cheese this morning for breakfast, adn then ate a plate of spegetti for lunch! She is our Jordyn again! Her old personality is back, and I am so greatful. To all of those at Walter Reed, we miss you all very much, and are anxious to see you again. You take such wonderful care of Jordyn, and we want you to know that we love all of you, for loving and caring about Jordyn. Keep Jordyn in your prayers, along with Christopher Hargrave and Torey Maghanoy. And all the other children who are fighting these diseases, there are jsut too many of them. Thursday, December 09, 1999 at 10:48 PM (CST) Hi sorry so late with the update, it's been a crazy day, not bad, just crazy. A lot of people have been on the computer, so now it is finally free! Jordyns' WBC is up from 4.0 to 4.1 and her ANC is down to 2,220. We are praying that her counts will rise to WBC 6 or 7 and her ANC aprox. the same.Send out your prayers, she is in good spirits and actually talked on the phone tonight to Grandma and Grandpa Flewelling! She played and blew bubbles for us, but she willn ot do anything for the physical thereapists (PT)! She usaully gets her energy bursts in the evenings, and of course they are gone by then, I am thinking about video taping her playing so that they know she really does play and is always being held by us. Christopher is hanging in there, he has .05 WBC still, please keep him in your prayers, along with Torey. Friday, December 10, 1999 at 02:35 PM (CST) hi today Jordyns' WBC is 4.8 and her ANC is 3792. Her counts are starting to rise on their own! No help from drugs, her body is making them! Her plateletts went up and so did her hemoglobin! She is doing really great and still eating a fair amount.Wed., still looks like the going home day!I know every day I thank all of you, but you just don't understand how important your prayers are. We know that God is walking beside Jordyn and giving her the strength to build these counts and to get stronger everyday. We know that without God, there is no hope.I pray that the Lord is in all of your lives, and that you find peace in your lives. Know that when you say your prayers every day for Jordyn and for what ever and who ever else you pray for you are growing closer to God, and that is the most important thing in our life. Once this is all over and Jordyn is old enough to understand, we will make sure she knows that because of all of you, she is closer to the Lord. So thank you all for that. Please keep praying for Christopher, his counts are back to zero again, he needs all of our prayers. Also send out special prayers for Tori, she has been a great inspiration to us, and her and her family need as many prayers as we can give. Unfortunaltey not every child will survive cancer, I just pray that Tori and Jordyn will be a few of the long term survivors. We love you all, and send up your prayers. Saturday, December 11, 1999 at 06:51 PM (CST) Hi well Jordyns' counts have dropped. Her WBC is 2.9 and her ANC is 2117. The drs., say it's because she is not on the GCSF and they are not worried in the slightest. They are actually going to start drawing labs only every other day, so she will going get 2 more labs drawn before she is discharged, Monday and Wed.,!She is still eating great, she is on predisolne, steriods, and she is craving anything with protein: ham, turkey, sausage. And she can't get enough cheese. We are not complaining, at least it's good stuff! They only true"junk food" she eats is pretzels, and those are no really bad for her, they have no fat. Please keep sending your prayers for her. We will be praying that her counts start coming up, and that she continues to do well. We always pray for strength. We would like to send out a special "We love you to my parents, Ken and Madeline and to Phil and Misty". Also a special THANK YOU to the Mayetta Christian Church c/o Terry and Sherry Eaton and boys. You have been here, so you know just how much it means to us. Also, please keep praying for Christopher. He has a WBC of 0.1, but no ANC. He is close to having some counts, so please send out some prayers for him. Keep Tori in your prayers. PS, if any one would like to donate to donate eggs to us we would gladly take them, we know that until Jordyn is off the predisolne. Any of you that were around last time, I'm sure you remember how she was eating dozens of boiled eggs. If you weren't around, then let me just tell you that she was literally eating at least 4 dozen a week! Eggs aren't that expensive, but when you're buying that many they start getting a little expensive! :):):):) Sunday, December 12, 1999 at 02:30 PM (CST) Hi not much to report, because they did not draw labs this morning. The steriods are definatley having an effect on Jordyns' mood, and it's not a good effect! She woke up at a quarter to 5 am and fussed about for 2 to 3 hours! Lets just say, I was getting very tired of being kicked, hit, and pushed off the couch-bed. I know it is the predisolne that is making her so moody, I can't wait until the end of the month, when we start weaning her off. She is supposed to be completely off of it by the end of the month. Now that she is up for the day, she is in a better mood, she ate a good breakfast, and had a bananna for the first time in over a month! Well, we have good news on Christopher! He has aWBC of .1 still, but he now has an ANC level of 33! So he is making progress, please keep him in your prayers. Please send out a prayer for me, for strength, so that I call be a better mommy to Jordyn, while she is on these wonderful drugs that make me think that she is having PMS! Lets just say,I think I am getting a preview of what she may be like when she is a teenager, and I know that when she reads this she will kill me, oh well I am sure this won't be the first time she will have these feelings towards me! :) Please keep sending out your prayers for Jordyn. And have a wonderful day!Only 3 days until we are home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):):):):):):):):):):):) Monday, December 13, 1999 at 09:22 PM (CST) Hi well just one more full day left and we will be out of here! The house is ready, the last bit is being done by Chad and our friend Michelle- THANK YOU! Her counts went down a little more today, her WBC is 2.2 and her ANC is 1298. Her plateletts came up on their own though, so that was great news! Dr. Mosijzuck ( i know I misspelled his name, and I am sorry!) and Debbie, from Walter Reed stopped by today. While they were here Jordyn would just barely wave at them, after they left she started asking about them! Go figure. We are getting excited about our homecoming, last night I set up the Christmas tree, and decorated it! I was up late, but I know Jordyn will love it, so it was worth it! We have good news on Christopher, his ANC went up to 50! Keep praying for him and of course Jordyn. Well, after tomorrow I don't know if I will be able to update everyday, unless I have Mom do it, but unless there is a lot of news, I will try to update it 2 to 3 times a week. Thank you all for your support, love, and prayers during this time, and please know that we still need it, even though this phase is almost complete. Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at 08:38 PM (CST) Hi well not much news on this front, except that they had to change a port of Jordyns' central line. She had a small needle size hole right by the cap, and so they cut off a section and slid and glued another one in. It was interesting. We are still going home tomorrow! Jordyn keeps saying, "go bye-bye?" and we tell her that when she wakes up in the morning we will go. It's been a pretty good day. We don't have the best news on Christopher. They got in contact with the donor, in Germany, and for some reason she can't donate again. There is another person in Europe who is a 6 out of 6, so they are going to try to get in contact with them, and see if they will donate. His WBC dropped back to 50 today, but his ANC held on. Please pray for them. They don't know what they are going to do, so they can use all the prayers you can send out! Well, I will try to update tomorrow morning before we leave, otherwise, I will go to the library tomorrow evening and update. God bless all of you, and keep praying for Jordyn. Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at 10:45 AM (CST) Hi well great news, we are going home, in less than an hour! Her counts went up, her WBC is 2.3 and her ANC is 1408! Thank you all for your prayers, and love, please keep sending it to Jordyn! We are very excited about getting her home, and she is too.She keeps saying, "go bye-bye," She is in a great mood, I think she finally believes that we are really going. Christopher is doing better, his counts have went up, but I don't have the numbers. Keep them in your prayers. Well, we will be back on Friday for a check-up, so I will try to update then, if not maybe Sat., Sending out all our love to all of you Saturday, December 18, 1999 at 02:58 PM (CST) hi not a lot of news, Jordyn went in for her check-up at Childrens' yesterday and all of her counts have went up, even the plateletts! She is still smiling and laughing! I don't know how Christopher is doing, please keep hime on your prayer list, along with a very special family who lost thier loved one a couple days ago. June Brazil, past away, Friday at 12:40 am. She was a co-owner of the hem0onc list, which I subscribe to and helped through some of the difficults times. She too had cancer, adn was a fighter. All of us who are among the list will shead many tears for this loss. Please add a prayer for her family and friends. May the Lord be with all of you, and keep Jordyn in your prayers! |
