Sorry about that!! :) Well, we took Jordyn into WR today so she could get plateletts! Here are her counts today! WBC-2.5 HGB-5.7 Hct-17.3 Plts-2 She is doing great, the past 2 days she has been in a great mood! She has been awake so much during the day, yesterday she didn't sleep at all, and didn't fall asleep until 3 am! Today, she only slept ont he way to DC and when they drugged her up with rpe-meds for the plateletts! Those went well and she got 3/4 of them, and then I saw 1 hive so we stopped them. That 1 was the only hive she got, but I am so happy that we stopped, last time she broke out so bad, I just didn't want to take the chance! Anyways,we are looking forward to Easter! We don't know if we will be able to make it to Church or not, we would like to, but it's up to how Jordyn is doing. Anyways, I am trying to make this a bit shorter than the last one, if you didn't get to read it and you are intrigued, just go to "history" and read! :) Just be prepared!! Warning! Anyways, she is still hanging in there and we are so thankful. I have to say, that I am ready for Easter, I think it has such meaning and it's so miraculous, we are ready for our miracle to happen! Wouldn't Easter be the perfect time?! Anyways, we just want to ask you to continue to pray for Jordyn. Ask the Lord to lift the leukemia out of her body and leave her healthy body happy and long living here on EARTH! Pray for Chad and I, give us inner peace and strength. Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at 08:50 PM (CDT) Hi everyone!! Well, I will start off with the counts as of Monday, April 24! WBC-2.8 HGB-4.7 HCT-13.4 Plts-12 She got red-packed blood cells today! No plateletts, yet, we wait until they are under 10! Now, here is your warning now, this will probably be a little long, but probably not as long as the one from last week! So just bare with me and read all of it please! I am going to more of less up date you on what Jordyn has been doing this past week, and not in any order of dates, I will probably skip around!! Right as we speak Jordyn is playing with playdough, with Chad. She and I played with it earlier this evening!! She also has decided in the last couple days, she wants us reading to her again!!! So we are READING!!!!! Today, she also decided to be somewhat socialable with the staff at WR! She told them all bye-bye, and even blew them kisses!! Then tonight when she talked to her Mammaw and Pappaw, she blew her Mammaw a kiss and told them bye-bye. And she told her Nana bye-bye. Ok on to Easter!!! We went to the service at Calvary Baptist Road, it was a wonderful service, and I am happy we went, I felt very close to Jesus and our Lord that day! Jordyn recieveed 4, count them 4, EASTER baskets!!! She got the ones from us, her Mammaw and Pappa, and one from the EFMP of Ft. Belvoir! She also recieved a Precious Moments from her Uncle Phil and Aunt Misty! Thank you to everyone!!!! Jordyn ate primarily only candy all day!!!!!!! That night as I ( Christy) was getting ready for bed, I told Jordyn that I loved her, and she said it back!!!! She hasn't said those words in sooo long! It felt so good to hear her say that! Plus it sures is an ego enhancer! :) She also got a "Pooh" penny from our neighbors, Tina and Amanda and family, who had just returned earlier that day from Disney World! THANK YOU! Yesterday, we went to the White House for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. We went in an hour earlier than the "Healty" kids, the Clintons began inviting the "special needs" children and it is wonderful to have that extra time with out thousands of people there to take up so much space. Jordyn really enjoyed the egg roll itself, even though Mommy did the work! :) We did get to see the President and First Lady, they did their speaches and then went back into the White House, we did get them on video tape, so Jordyn will be able to have a part of history! Jordyn has decided that she is interested in TV again. She loves watching Telletubbies(LA-La), and Pooh! The other day we watched La-La, all day, it was a VERY LONG DAY! EVen if she fell asleep and we would turn it off she would wake up and request it! So there was no brake! On Saturday, she decided she wanted to play in her room for a little bit, we did get it on video tape, she played with her kitchen some! We were thrilled to see the desire to play! And she wanted to read, after she was finished playing! Jordyn also decided that she wants to play on the computer! Sonia and Gary Hargraves, Angel Christophers' parents, loaned Jordyn a computer game and she loves it! Thanks for letting us keep it for so long! :) Jordyn is still eating good, just a fw minutes ago, she ate a turkey sandwich, she loves eating hotdogs, she eats 2 or 3 a day! She loves to hold on to a LifeSaver! Never lets go of it!! :) She also like to hold onto the middle size Hershey Bars, and lets them melt in her hands! She doesn't eat them, she just holds them!!!!! :) and she loves holding onto GUM! I don't understand it, but she does and it makes her happy!!! We want to say a special HI to Chris! She is Mammaws' longest friend, from high school, Chris! We were so very happy to see you last night! We hope if you come back you call us again! I pray that your trip back to KC was safe and non-invintful! Also, go to the Photos' and see the 3 new pictures that I put up the other night! Just a few minutes ago, Jordyn had Chad make her playdough into a ball and then decided that the dogs were her targets! TG she doesn't throw really hard, because she hit them!! It brought her happiness and they didn't even move, for those who don't know, we DO NOT have the SMARTEST dogs, but they are cute and love Jordyn! :) Also, Jordyns' feet are swollen, we have a couple possibilities of why, it sums up to that she is probably getting poor circulation and some how possibly water/fluid is getting in her feet and not able to circulate back up! We are elevating her feet and praying that the swelling goes down, she doesn't seem to be in any discomfort from it, it just looks sore! Last but not least, please pray for a couple of Jordyns' special friends. Casey R. is having some symptoms so the drs are a little worried about her, so they will be doing a MRI on Friday morning. She is also supposed to be going to Disney World next WEd., so keep her in your prayers that nothing shows up on the MRI and that she makes it to DW!!! Also, Jordyns' best friend Sarah B. has been having seizures, Sarah had a rare brain tumor,she had surgery and a lot of radiation. They say the seizures are from the surgery and radiation, and that it's like she has been in 2 head on collisions and is now suffering the consequences. The last MRI she had about a month ago, came up clear, Praise the Lord!!!!! Just please keep Sarah and her family in your prayers and that the siezures cease! Also, Please pray for a 15 year old boy who has a very aggressive for of ALL leukemia! He was treated at Childrens' National in DC where Jordyn had her BMT, they did everything they could, but her relapsed and they had nothing else for him. Last Thursday he went to Duke University Childrens' hospital. He is being treated there. They need your prayers. Her needs a cord blood transplant, but he is from Iran and they need funding for the transplant. They can't get fedral funding because he is not an American citizen! She is still fighting and is AMAZING! We know that God has a special plan for Jordyn, she is living proof of that! WBC-2.6 HGB-7.4 HCT-22.3 PLTS-3 we go in the morning to get more plateletts!! :) Jordyn is still doing well and we are happy with how she is feeling! She laughs and smiles, enjoys being read to and is playing on the computer! Please if you haven't checked out the new pictures, go there!! Also, extra prayer requests: Brooke Griffin, she is in the same stage as Jordyn, but with a different type of cancer. Please pray for her and her family! First of all, today is May 1, 2000. Three months ago, on Feb 1, we found out that Jordyn relapsed. We were told that she may not make it to March and it was extremely doubtful that she would make it to her birthday, March 30, 2000! Well, here we are May 1, 2000!! And she is still kicking it up!! She has been feeling good;she's been smiling more and has started laughing again! Don't know there really isn't an explanation for it, but that is fine with us. We know that God is working on his end and that we just have to trust in him and keep believing that he will continue to take care of her! Our other good news is her platelett counts! Here are her counts! WBC 1.6 yes we know they are low, very, very low! HGB 6.8 HCT 18.5 Plts 67 We are very happy with how she has been doing and ever so greatful! We love Jordyn and she is our everything!! PTL! Yesterday, we went to the Catholic Shrine of Immaculate Conception! Sister Faustina was made to be a Saint, I am not Catholic so I know I am not writing this correctly! Sorry! Anyways, Jordyn was blessed by 2 priests and we rubbed a string from Sister Faustinas' robe, and she was also touched by a peice from the Holy Cross! It was a very spiritual day and emotional moment! Thank you Beth for inviting us!! Thank you! We ask that you continue to pray for Casey, the MRI showed that nothing had changed, but she is still having some problems. Continue to pray for Sarah also. We ask that pray for a 15 year Pedram. He has ALL leukemia and has went into a coma, as of Saturday. We have to take Jordyn into WR tomorrow, because she has vomitted 3 times this evening, we think it is from the codiene, we will find out tomorrow. They will be changing her medication to a form of morphine! Well, I will give an update tomorrow. Please continue to pray for Jordyn. Yesterday, was our 3 month mark since she relapsed!! That is a celebration for us, because they didn't think she would make it to or through March!!! Praise The Lord (PTL)!!! Also, her counts are looking good!! Well her plateletts are anyways!!!! WBC-1.6 low we know!! HGB-6.3 HCT-18.5 PLTS-67!!!!!! This is the highest they have been since she relapsed!!! PTL!!!! Jordyn is doing well, she is finding things to smile and laugh about, which makes us feel great! Last night Jordyn vomited about 3 times. We called Debbie, nurse from WR, and she told us to lay off the codiene and jsut give her Tylenol. She didn't get any codiene until 3 pm!! today!! HEY!!!! We ask that you pray for some of our special friends: Casey R. she has been having some symptoms and no known reason yet, she is leaving for Disney World tomorrow, have a great trip Casey and family!! :) For Sarah B., she is havign seizures, if you need details, please go to history, it is there! For Pedram, we would like to plead to the Lord and praise him all in one, Pedram went into a coma Saturday, and today he is out!! PTL!!! He is in dire need of a bone marrow transplant, they have 2 cord bloods for him, but they need the funds to do it, the drs are waiving all fees, but the hosptial won't, no hosptial will. Also, for a little boy Jimmy, he had AML leukemia and then developed ALL also, he passed away last month, and his family is of course missing him badly. They need your prayers!! We would like to thank all of you for your continuous prayers, we do feel them. They are working and we know it!!! Also, Sunday, we attended The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Catholica Church in Washington DC. Sister Faustina was put into Sainthood, and I know I did not work that right, sorry I am not Catholic! Anyways, it was a very beautiful service, the Shrine is an amazing place, if you are in this area I highly recommend you go there, even if you are not Catholic, it's an amzing place to be!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!! Anyways, Jordyn was blessed and has even more people praying for her!! We can never have too many people praying for her!! :) Well, we took Jordyn to WR today because of the vomiting from last night, and we are jsut going to journal every time she gets the codiene and try to not give it to her as much. We think that she does not feel right and she knows that the med will make her feel better, so it may not be that she so much needs it, but wants it!!! maybe more of a psychological thing. She has only recieved tha codiene once today, and she is doing great and in a great mood, and getting ready to eat more!!! :) YEAH!!!! Well, tomorrow we have friends coming, Regina and her family. We are going to tour DC!! We are looking forward to their arrival. Also, would you please add some friends to your prayer list, this is a little different from our other request. Our friends Donald and Rebekah are trying to have another baby, they already have son 18 months old. They are having problems and tomorrow I will be going with Rebekah to the dr for some more tests. WBC-3.6 HGB-6.2 HCT-18.3 Plts-20 We are going in tomorrow for Jordyn to get plateletts, because we will be heading to Ohio this weekend. Chad's grandpa passed away tonight. Chads' family needs many many prayers! Chad does too, of course! We don't know the plans of the funeral, only that it will be a military burial. I don't know if I will be able to update until we are back, should be early next week. We have a special vistior here right now, Regina and Corbin. We are enjoying their visit, and are excited at the possiblity that they may be staying in the Virgina area. Regina is from Ks, and we graduated together!! So it's wonderful to have someone here that "knows" me!!! And vice-versa!! Well, Jordyn is doing good. She is still eating great and feeling good. We are very thankful!!
