ARGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!

Trouble with the mouse!

Good luck studying. AND don’t  skip or leave early Monday night!

List four basic functions of proteins within cells.

How does alcoholic fermentation differ from lactic acid fermentation? What are the

starting products and ending molecules made during these processes? Are these processes

more or less efficient with regard to the amount of ATP made as compared to aerobic cell

respiration? Given the choice, why do yeast always choose aerobic cell respiration if

enough oxygen is available?

Which types of cell respiration produce carbon dioxide? From what molecule is

carbon dioxide derived from during cell respiration?

What molecules enter into and are produced from each of the following: glycolysis, Kreb’s

cycle, electron transport and chemiosmosis, lactic acid fermentation, alcoholic

fermentation.

Briefly describe or draw a diagram to explain how ATP is made during electron

transport and chemiosmosis?

Where are the guard cells in a plant? What is their function? Do the stomata open or

close when the plant has access to more water?

Draw a diagram to show the basic structure of a chloroplast.

Where do the light reactions occur in plant cells? What chemical is necessary for the

light reaction to proceed? What molecules are produced from the light reactions?

What chemical is necessary for the Calvin Cycle? Where does the Calvin Cycle occur

in plant cells? What 3 carbon compound is produced during the Calvin cycle? What

other compounds can be formed from this 3 carbon compound in plant cells?

What is carbon fixation?

How does the wavelength of light relate to the concept of color?

What colors of light does chlorophyll absorb? What color is reflected?

Briefly describe how ATP is produced during the light reactions in the thylakoid membrane.
