In the first trade of my All Star career I received Bobby Abreu, Robinson Cano, Brandon Inge, and Kyle Sletth. Bobby plays a key role for the team, as he gives me a consistent impact outfielder with the potential to better his 2005 stats. Robinson canowas also a huge part of this deal, he gives Tampa youth at a great positon and will be hitting near the top of the order in one of the most potent offenses in the game. Hopefully, Kyle Sleeth can put all of his pieces together (literally) and one day become an impact pitcher for the tigers.
In the second deal of the year Tampa was able to acquire Mark Teixera and Jhonny Peralta along with cash considerations from the cardinals. Tampa sees mark teixera as the cornerstone of the offense for years to come and allows for flexibility at the 1b position if Big Papi turns out to be a Dh-only player. As for peralta, he was the most crucial part of this deal, making way for renteria to go straight to the minors and for barry Bonds to be brgouht up. Tampa thinks this deal brings a lot of future opportunity to the squad and allows for a plathors of cap felxibility for the upcoming free agency frenzy.
