40th Wedding Anniversary Party
September 3rd was our 40th Wedding Anniversary! Our children had a party for us and it was wonderful. The theme to the party was movies from the 60's. We all dressed up as characters from movies or television shows during the 60's. It was so much fun! My husband had the best costume. He was the Fonz from the tv show Happy Days. He has very little hair but used gel on it to comb it forward and make it curl. He wore a white T-shirt with one sleeve rolled up with what looked like a package of cigarettes in it. He rolled up his jeans and wore a pair of large black sunglasses. He managed to talk like the Fonz too! Other great costumes were my daughter and grandson who were dressed as Bonnie and Clyde. When we walked in the door they told us to "stick um up" My grandson had his viola case pointed straight at us as if it were a machine gun. ha!
My son David and his wife Susan went as prisoners from the movie "Cool Hand Luke". They were so cute in their matching prison outfits. I asked them if we were going to have a boiled egg eating contest. They did serve deviled eggs.
My son Andy and his fiance' went as hippies. Andy wore a really bright colored tie dyed T-shirt and Anna had on a mini-skirt. They looked pretty darn good as always.
The most touching thing about the party was the slideshow that they all contributed to making, even my 10 year old grandson. The slideshow contained so many pictures of my husband and I in our early years, our wedding picture and also lots of pictures of our family together. The kids made a copy of the slideshow for each of us to take home.
I will always treasure the slideshow and my memories of the party. I really do have the best kids and grandson that a person could ever want. My daughters-in-law and soon to be daughter-in-law are also the greatest. I love them all.
That's all for now.
