Visit to the Summer Palace
photo

We found this little Chinese princess wandering the grounds of the Summer Palace and she gave us a nice tour!    We saw only about 1/10 (at most) of the buildings located throughout the 716 acre Summer Palace.  What a fantastic place!  You can see all of our photos in the slide shows (below).   Be sure and look for the photos of the Long Corridor, which is an approximately 2,000 foot long covered walkway that runs along the Kunming Lake at the foot of the Summer Palace's hills.  The Long Corridor has 14,000 pictures painted along the ceilings and is known as the longest gallery in the world!  Also look for the Tower of the Fragrance of the Buddha.  We walked up hundreds of stairs to reach the Buddhist Tower high upon a hill.  We also paddled a small boat for nearly an hour around Kunming Lake.  There are lots of nice photos taken from the lake as well.  All the sites were really spectacular!  We will definitely go back and see more of this lovely place -- there is still so much to see!  We hope you enjoy the photos!

With love,

Pat, Suzette & Hannah....
