This blog is about our adventures while living in China.
Hannah's School
We set off this morning for our first visit to Hannah's school -- Beijing primary school #1 (yi xiao in Chinese).  Well, we thought we knew where the school was located, but once we arrived, we learned that yi xiao has 3 campuses -- and we were at the wrong one!  After a bit of confusion, we finally found our way to the right campus, which, unfortunately, is much further away than we had expected.  Nonetheless, we had a nice tour with the teacher that runs the international student program at the school.  Hannah will be in regular Chinese classes with Chinese 5th graders all throughout the morning, and will study Chinese with the international students all afternoon.  She will also have music, art, computer, and Chinese culture classes!  The school looked great and the teacher was very nice.  Strangely, however, the head master has not yet notified teachers and students when school will begin!  We thought that was a bit odd, but they said they would let us know soon when school will start.  We also learned that the students must wear uniforms only on Mondays (and on special occasions), which was also a bit strange, but then again, we're in China!  We'll take some photos of Hannah's school the next time we visit.  Until later then, zai jian!
