We have just returned from a glorious 10 days of traveling to Hong Kong and Singapore!  Although these two cities (well, Singapore is a city/country actually) are not really the site-seeing havens that many Chinese cities are, they were quite lovely -- and warm!!  Not to mention they offered great food and interesting shopping and other activities!  Oh yeah, and my port security research in both places went very well too!

In Hong Kong we visited a couple of island beaches, rode along the world's longest escalator/moving sidewalk (about 1.5 miles long!), browsed the jade market, traveled by tram to the "Peak" and viewed the city from high above, cruised around the harbour in a ferry, and managed to renew our visas to return to Beijing (woo hoo).  In Singapore we mainly vegetated by the pool, hence the lack of many photos.  The equatorial weather was wonderful and Hannah REALLY loved the pool.  We did, however, manage a trip to the bird park and dinner by the river.  But mainly, we just relaxed and soaked up the warmth.  We also ate some FANTASTIC food.  I highly recommend Singapore.  It is clean, orderly, warm, and tasty!!  Hong Kong too is lovely and definitely worth the visit.  I hope you all can go someday!

We are now preparing for the end of our Asian journey.  We have 18 more days in China before we depart for Tokyo (for 5 days) and then we are coming home!  We are looking forward to seeing all of you soon!  But, before we return, we have a few more things to see in Beijing.  We'll be reporting on those adventures soon!
