Here's an interesting experience I once had. I was on

a weekend rest-retreat at a retreat house near St.

Louis, MO. There was another group there that was

doing a healing workshop led by an Episcopalian priest

but I wasn't part of this group. However, the retreat

house served dinner to everyone in a big dining room.

Anyway, I sat at a table next to a woman I didn't know

and she showed me her arm and asked if I saw anything

unusual about it. I said, "no".

Then she told me the story about how just hours before

the leader of the healing workshop asked everyone to

think/pray of someone who needed healing. She said she

had thought of a man she knew who had a tumor of his

leg. She said that when she did this she had a feeling

in her arm and when she looked a big tumor that she

had on her arm (which she had kept covered) had

disappeared. She was suppose to go in for surgery for

it in a few days! She also told me that when this

happened she immediately showed her husband her arm

and he would not believe even as he saw her arm was

now healed and he in fact, left the retreat house and

the workshop! The other people at the table knew the

woman and attested to what she said.
