I've spent most of the day today fixing this comp up,I tell you it came THIS close to a complete reformat ended up using the boot disk to reload system files...some programme(probly Quicktime)took windows files with it when I uninstalled it so then it wouldnt start up ,only in safe mode

So frustrating,thats why I had to use old comp last night its slow but it goes and its great to have backup got my favorites off it too while I had it started up gotta love yahoo toolbar and its bookmark thingy now I have lots of favorites and even found some I'd forgotten all about like this one The Exorsist with bunnies

Ps: still have probs with sounds on this comp I don't know can't seem to get any sounds at all now even for 5 mins,and my volume control seems all sluggish/sticky got me stuffed I don't know whats causing it........so I have a 18gig with no sound and an 8 gig comp with sound thats painfully slow I dunno shove em together then I'd be right

Well looks like I found the problem with my sound I am going to try a new sound card,the one on this computer is on the mother board and I think the plugs where you plug the speakers in have gone,as It plays sounds but you just cant hear them and no there is nothing wrong with the speakers.

So I have up graded to ME ,still have to put Office and a Grafics prog on but it sure does run well now and I swear my screen looks bigger must be the picture quality on 98 ..........I am even going to see if my USB keyboard and my cam work. I put AVG on first tyvm ,anti virus should be the first thing you ever put on your comp!! PS: XP wont fit on this comp..well it will but won't be any room for any thing else

But I do like the new Beta version of messenger heaps more buttons to press and links to all of Yahoo services,don't know how boot resistant it is yet but as I dont take my name in rooms very often on messenger so not a problem for me Yahelite is the best for chatting in rooms blocks all those annoying porn bots..you know I recon half the time its the messages from them (I block 2.3 bots per minute) that boots most people
