| Anderson quits X Files This time it is Gillian Anderson not her alter ego Agent Scully who has been abducted from The X-Files. The sultry star of the hit series has confirmed she is leaving the show and she explained her disappearance as a need to spend more time with her daughter Piper, seven, and pursue a career in movies. "It's time," she said, "and it feels good". But before fans mourn the passing of both Mulder, played by David Duchovny - who has already indicated he won't return next season - and Scully, think back to last yeah when Duchovny and Anderson assured media that would be their last season. Duchovny then made a lucrative deal returning for cameo appearances in half the episodesand Anderson also signed a contract which actually binds her through next season too, although she won't comment on just how she will get creator Chris Carter to release her from the earlier deal. Regardless, the series will continue with new cast member Robert Patrick and Anderson is shuffling through scripts to make her next move. "The stuff I'm going to do is as far from Scully as humanly possible," Anderson said. |
