hong kong 2002*

Well, it all began back even before I arrived in Japan when Trudi Wigg, my classmate from Kun-ei Girls' High in Osaka (1998) invited me along with her to visit her parents who were moving to Hong Kong at the same time we went to Japan. She was headed over in the winter holidays of 2002 (Christmas/New Years) and as I had never been to Hong Kong I couldnt wait to go! Anita Douglas, another friend from our Kun-ei experience, also came along. It was a bit of a reunion for Anita and I, as we hadn't seen each other since I got off the plane at Christchurch in early January 1999. I picked Anita up from Ikebukuro Station early on Saturday 21st December and we went back to my apartment to watch the newest Friends episodes, before heading to Narita airport. We arrived with plenty of time and spent a while looking around the nearly non-existant souvenier shops. We boarded our plane on time, but due to heavy rain and windy conditions, we sat in our plane on the tarmac for 1 1/4 hours before our plane took off.
The flight was really really bumpy the whole way (worst lot of turbulence I had ever experienced) but we made it to Hong Kong in one piece.
