Terra Vitae, offered to public investment in 1998, followed the success of Villa Maria
Estate's first share offer in 1993 in Seddon Vineyard on the banks of the Awatere River.
Terra Vitae is a publicly owned vineyard company producing high quality Sauvignon Blanc,
Chardonnay and Riesling on 40 hectares of land in the Awatere Valley.

Interest in Terra Vitae was immediate and a public association of over 300 members has
invested over $9,500NZ each over a three-year period.

Terra Vitae comprises three vineyards in the Hawkes Bay region, Ngakirikiri, Twyford Gravels
and the Keltern Valley Nursery and a further expansion of vine area in the Taylors Pass
Vineyard in Awatere Valley, Marlborough.

A party of 150 investors recently visited the Awatere region to see how their investment was
blossoming and to hear from Chairman of Villa Maria Estate, George Fistonich, on the
developments in place in the Marlborough region.

The Ngakirikiri vineyard has recently completed planting of four red and one white varietal
grapes: Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Chardonnay. Whilst planting at
Twyford Gravels has just begun.

At the Keltern Valley Nursery, Villa Maria have begun growing their own vine rootstock, due
to a shortage of planting material in New Zealand.

In Taylors Pass in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough the planting of over 72 hectares of grape
varietals are due to begin in the foreseeable future. These will include Sauvignon Blanc,
Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
