John Darby has particular expertise in golf resort development.
He also worked with Sir Bob Charles in the development and     
design of Millbrook Resort, Queenstown. He is a Harvard        
University trained golf course architect and resort planner.

A Queenstown business partnership has plans for the largest
vineyard development in Central Otago. Amisfield Vineyards 
is a company set up by Queenstown businessmen John Darby,  
Russell Hamilton and Rob Hay of Chard Farm and it is about 
to start developing a 270ha block at Lowburn, north of     
Cromwell beside the Wanaka-Cromwell highway. The company   
plan to subdivide the land into vineyard blocks of between 
6ha and 10ha to be sold for $10,000 to $20,000 a ha, plus  
smaller lifestyle blocks, Mr Hay said.    (Southland Times)
