
Grant Gillett Directorships C G Surgical Ltd Major Shareholdings Background Gillett, Professor Grant MB, ChB, FRACS, D Phil Dr. Gillett is a Professor in Medical Ethics and Consultant Neurosurgeon at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Dr. Gillett graduated from the University of Auckland in 1974 with a MB, ChB. During his medical training he began studying Philosophy. After obtaining his Fellowship in Neurosurgery, he proceeded to further training in Neurosurgery as a Fellow at Oxford University. He also enrolled in the Faculty of Philosophy and in 1986 obtained his Doctorate in Philosophy. He was appointed a Fellow at Magdalen College where his research was in medical ethics. Dr. Gillett is deeply involved in teaching at the University of Otago, New Zealand in both neurosciences and bioethics. He recently established the Bioethics Center at the Medical School. Dr. Gillett is the author or co-author of several texts on Medical Ethics, and has published well over 100 articles on the philosophy of medicine and medical ethics.
