Andrew Krukziener Directorships Major Shareholdings Background The son of Holocaust survivors Abraham and Vera Krukziener, who are substantial property investors in their own right, he made his mark in the business from age twenty when he managed commercial properties with Landmark Corporation. He left in 1988 and established Krukziener Properties. Krukziener was one of the first developers to find a new use for old buildings as ritzy apartment blocks. In 1996 he bought One Queen Street, arguably one of Auckland's uglier tower blocks, which he refurbished successfully with the help of his friendly banker, HSBC. Another large project (and one critics said would be his undoing) was the swank 40-storey, 350-apartment Metropolis tower incorporating the former Auckland Magistrates' Court. (The Richlist, G.
