NZ WINE CO PROFIT RISE

The New Zealand Wine Company, formerly Grove Mill Wines, posted a 43% higher, $1 million,    
June-year profit on revenue of $6.8M and said its 1227 tonne 2002 harvest was up 48%.        

It announced a one-for-eight rights issue at $2 to fund expanded winery capacity, working    
capital and vineyard development.

The wine thirsty NZSE may be in for a taste of Vino at long last. Grove Mill, listed on the  
Unlisted Securities Market, is looking to list sometime later this year.                     

Grove Mill last year formed a company called New Zealand Wine Company, it is believed that   
this will be their listing vehicle. However there are a few other hurdles to cross yet.      

The companies shareholders voted to change the constitution mid March allowing the company to
list on the NZSE - but there just aren't enough of them, NZSE listing requirements stipulate 
500 shareholders minimum while Grove Mill currently boasts just over 200. However, some plans
are afoot for aquisitions which, combined with a capital raising, should push them over the  
500 minimum. Watch this space...

Unlisted winemaker Grove Mill's December first-half profit rose 37% to $446,000 on higher    
production. The company plans more plantings and a new winery.

Grove Mill has issued new shares at $2.80 as consideration for entry into a contract for the 
for supply of Sauvignon Blanc fruit from 22 acres of vineyard. Further information will be
