History
Established in 1875 the Ashburton Permanent is owned by it�s Shareholders
who annually elect a Board of Directors to manage the affairs of the Society.
The Society operates under a Prudential Trust Deed with the �Tower Trust�
providing the monitoring role for those Shareholders. 
Renamed to ABS Canterbury in October, 2001.
