Objectives - to learn, to preserve, to protect.
Founded in 1976, our members enjoy interesting monthly speakers on local, New Zealand and some overseas topics, and afterwards we offer a friendly atmosphere over a cup of coffee or tea. Make new friends and join people with similar interests. We also offer day and longer trips of historical interest, our own library and a quarterly newsletter "Hobson's Choice". We are a member of the New Zealand Federation of Historical Societies, and play an active role in their local activities. Our President is on the editorial board of the Federation magazine "New Zealand Legacy".
Venue: Senior Citizen's Hall (adjacent to Takapuna Library), The Strand, Takapuna.
