"Guestimate" Road Races

Unexpectately small turnouts were unfortunately a feature of the Hastings Harriers hosted 'Guestimate' Road Races on Saturday. Despite the beautiful hot HB weather, only 22 competitors turned out on the Norton Rd course.
Competitors are required to estimate their race time over their selected distance and then, running without a watch, run as close as possible to that time. Saturday's hot weather seemed to take its toll, with most estimates being too fast. The closest estimate on the day was made by Napier's Ryan Woolley who was a mere 2 seconds too slow over his 6km course while Hastings' Todd Burnard ran to within 4 seconds of his pre-race estimate.
