HAWKES BAY GISBORNE CENTRE
CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
SATURDAY 24 JULY 2004
Championship Information

Course
Kirkpatrick Farm, corner of Wharekopae Road (road to Ngatapa and Eastwood Hill) and Brunton Road, Patutahi, Gisborne.

the course is very easy to find. When coming from Hawkes Bay proceed straight ahead at the Waipoa Roundabaout (do not go across the bridge to Gisborne), which takes you on to Wharekopae Road. The farm road onto the course is 3 - 5 minutes drive from the roundabout on the right hand side of the road. The entrance to the farm will be clearly marked with the
Gisborne Harrier Club banner.

Parking is within the course adjacent to the start finish area (subject to ground conditions). Follow the signs and directions on the farm road.

Nature of the Course
The course for the 2004 centre championships is a more traditional type of cross country course. However it is on a very good running surface that will allow fast racing.
(Even if unfit?) There is 1 major hill climb in each 2 kilometer lap and a gentle incline in the 'paddock' section. A fast but gradual downhill section is also included. (at no extra charge)

Facilities
Toilets are available at the woolshed. Tents will be provided for storage of gear, clothing etc.

Afternoon Tea and Prize Giving
Showers will be available and the afternoon tea and prize giving will be held at the Gisborne Harrier Clubrooms, Innes St, Gisborne. The clubrooms will be available from midday if any competitors, club officials and supporters wish to use them for changing, a cup of tea etc before the championships.
