The College has planned another great - not to be missed - annual conference!

We have a reputation for providing good speakers and interesting topics. Come and join us in August for a stimulating weekend.

 

Our principal guest speaker will be Associate Professor Joanne Wood from the School of Optometry, Queensland University of Technology.

 

Joanne will be talking on:  Vision and Driving Research,  Visual Fields – Pitfalls,  and Indigenous Eye Health.

Professor Michael Corballis from the Psychology Department, The University of Auckland, will be presenting a most interesting talk on the evolution of language:  The Eyes Had It – How Language Evolved.

 

Jacqueline Chua who is a doctorial candidate from the Department of Optometry and Vision Science, Auckland, is to give us a talk on her research – Light Damage and RP in Relation to Optometry.

 

Lisa Wong, an engineering graduate from Auckland, will be talking on her doctorial thesis: Optical Recognition of Embossed Braille.

 

Simon Backhouse from the Department of Optometry in Auckland will present a report on his interesting research topic:

Experimental Myopia in Animals.

 

Dr Luke Mahon from Christchurch is to give us two papers: Higher Order Optical Aberrations and Refractive Surgery, and

Topographical & Clinical Features of Pellucid Marginal Degeneration versus Keratoconus.
