Hill Country

These photos are from various small Texas Locals that my parents and I visited during a weekend of exploring such places in October 2000.

This is a stonehenge  replica in the middle of nowhere. What a grand idea - I can cross the real thing off now.

Here is an Easter Island statue in the middle of Texas, and of course right by Stonehenge. Makes sense if you don't think about it...

Lockhart - The official BBQ Capital of Texas...well deserving of it too.

Mum and I order the beef. The BBQ is cooked in those big brick ovens in the background. It is sold by the pound or by the sausage....whatever gets your motor running.

Here is the nutritious meal we purchased. Just like fish and chip butties, but with BBQ meat instead of fish and chips and bread with no butter. This photo looks nasty but it actually tasted really good.

This is the skin of an unfortunate rattler and above is a map of Texas made from rattles....classy.

Born to adore the big bad bison - Thunderstorms and a man like Mike Tyson.

Me eating lunch in Fredricksburg - I am surprised that the flag is not a German one with the number of them that live in this place.

Mum and I leave base camp for our ascent on Enchanted Rock...It is the second largest lump of granite in the US...the largest can be seen on my page from Atlanta...

This is what it looks like on top, just in case you were wondering.

Rocks I tell you. Rocks.

Hey - No handguns at the dinner table! That goes for you spanish speakiers too!!

Mmmmm - A frosty mug 'o beer...no guns but.
