Austin
These are some random shots from Austin, where I live. They are pretty much random shots of nothing in particular...
Here are some new ones....
The Texas State Capitol Building.....built a long time ago, still bigger than the nations capital in DC.
Me inside the Texas Capitol building.....that is the dome above me, not a halo.
Here I am about to pass some bills into law...George W was out of town, so someone has to get things done...
This room is where the equivalent of Texas' parliament meets. It is open to the public, but there is usually not much going down...
The first law passed was that nothing could be made without a star on it....check out that chair design.
Here is Wendy with yet another start sighting,....not Sandra Bullock - the fence.
Mexican food and beer - yeah baby, yeah.
Mr Fluffy Tail II
Bats....mad mexican fruit bats that live in Austin for the summer. They will head home soon....perhaps I will see them in Mexico when I go in a month??
Stevie Ray and his trusty Start are immortalised in this statue...pity they didn't immortalise his amp aswell.
These guys were keen to catch fish...I don't know what kind of fish live in the lake - but I am sure with some 'flying lures' they would have managed to get the right up there under the cover and hook some target species.
This was quite a cool sunset I took a photo of from my backyard. Hot summer nights.
There are all these bats that fly out from the bridge, but they are very hard to photograph. So here is a photo of the Bat Shop instead. If you want to see the million odd bats - come to Austin.
Congress Street....This road runs directly up to the state capitol building - which is a monster. It is bigger than the nations capitol building in Washington DC - but the everything is bigger in Texas.
Here is a photo of Odette and Dave after a long nights drinking in Austin.
Here I observe how to drive water craft under bridges without crashing them...just in case I head back to Pensacola.
This is part of Downtown Austin....the lake is pretty nice, and very popular with everyone. Tramp.
These are a pair of swans that I spotted in the lake. I know it looks like they are swimming in oil - but it is actually unleaded petrol, so that is OK.
This is a different part of the lake, actually perhaps it is technically a river here? I'm not good with rivers/lakes. Anyway - it is nice and green and stuff.
This is a lizard thing that came and sat on my steps. I don't have a name for him - but if you have any ideas let me know...he was pretty cool. Perhaps I will call him Pretty Cool Mr Lizard Thing?
This is his profile shot - some portfolio! Yeah Baby!.....and I'm Spent.
Theodore couldn't attend the backyard bash, but Alvin and Simon were happy to come. It was all fun and games, but when Alvin started humping the bench I had to ask him to leave.
Home Sweet Home.....and a nice hot evening...
Here are some Lone Star Locals hanging out with their Texas Longhorns....that is what they call the cattle in case you are wondering.
Don't worry we have traffic here too....I took this on the way home when a truck had managed to flip over and cover all of the lanes....
After a night out at the pub - what else is there to do but crank the bread maker in anticipation of a post hangover loaf??? (loaf of bread that is)
This was just stupid....we are driving along saying - 'haha that RV towing the boat looks like an amphibious RV'. Then we got closer - I really should know better....I would love to see it in the surf...

These ones are all of the weekend Ginger and Sarah (on the right) left for Italy...and also my birthday....it ended up being a fun night - the red wine was certainly flowing...

These are a couple of girls Cam and Dave met at the bar....and some bottles of Red that were somehow more appealing at the time.

This is me sampling the lovely Cake the girls provided....very sweet - plus they really know how to sing happy birthday.

Me and Dave belting out a few classics to the appreciative crowd (Cam).

This is how it all began.....a few reds and some nasty Pizza....amazing how things end up....
