Sweet and Sour Pork (Gu Lu Rou)



Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp potato flour or corn flour set aside for deep frying pork
  • 500 gm pork loin cut into cubes placed in a small bowl for marinating
  • 1 small can pineapple chunks, drained (juice discarded) and set aside
  • 1 cup bell peppers, mixed colours if available - cut into triangles and set aside

    Combine in a small bowl:
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp White Pepper
  • 1 tsp Grated Garlic
  • 1 tbs Rice Wine

    Method:
    1. Add the above 4 ingredients to the pork and marinate for at least one hour
    2. Boil a pot of water and pour over bell peppers. Let stand for 12 minutes and then drain, cooling the peppers with ice water. Set aside.
    3. Fry everything together.
