The New Zealand Baby Names Web Site
I hope to create a database with information (taken from the birth announcements in the New Zealand Herald) about the most popular names being given to N.Z. babies. In this way, I hope that future children do not have to be one of 5 Sarahs or Michaels in their class!
Help would be gratefully appreciated! I would love it if someone was to provide a list of Maori names and meanings or if someone could collect names from other newspapers around the country.

Happy Guy Fawkes Day, everyone! Stay safe! I have updated the popularity page with last weeks names. I can already see a trend in the popularity of Charlotte, Sarah, James and the middle name Rose!

Did anyone see the segment on 3 News tonight about baby names? At the end of it, the presenter said "And according to (some source), the most popular baby names in New Zealand are Samuel and Emma." Did anyone catch the source? I missed it! Arghh!
