FISH
by me

This is a story of a poor little fish
A fish, I might say, who had quite a big wish.
You see, all the others were blue, and he was colored brown
What he wanted the most was to fit in in town.

But the other fish laughed, the other fish teased
Whatever the brown fish did, no one seemed pleased.
Try as he might, he couldnt fit in,
His color made it so he could never quite win.

But one certain day a baby blue fish got trapped
Tangled in seaweed, he was thoroughly wrapped!
All the blue fish combined could not get him out
And the future of this fish was truly in doubt.

But all of a sudden the baby was freed!
One fish had done such a very good deed.
The blue fish looked around and around
But the little fish rescuer was nowhere to be found.

Wait! one said, Is that a fish I see?
But blue was not what this fish was to be.
No, this was that brown one, the one so often teased,
But this time the blue fish were ever so pleased!

Youve rescued our baby, we thank you so much
We shouldnt have judged you on your color and such.
From now on youll always be our friend
In fact, I do think well be friends to the end!

And thats how it went, from that day on,
Blue fish and brown fish developed a bond.
They no longer judged a fish by its color
Instead each fish was considered as good as the other!
