JR. PONY DIVISION RULES & BY-LAWS

 

1. AGE. JUNIOR: Players at this level shall be 13-15 years of age as of April 30 of

playing year.

2. ROSTER. Roster must be submitted to the commissioner prior to the first scheduled

game. Roster must include a list of players with verified birth dates (school or birth

certificates).

3. RESIDENCE. See Grasshopper rules.

4. FOOTWEAR. Steel spikes may be worn at the Pony level.

5. FIELD SIZE. All dimensions as governed by high school rules. Base paths 90 feet

apart; back of home plate to front of pitcher’s plate is 60 feet 6 inches.

6. GAME LENGTH. Seven innings will constitute a full game for junior pony division.

Trailing team must bat 5 full innings for game to be official.

7. GAME TIME. Games are to start at 6:00 P.M. with a 15-minute leeway.

8. BASEBALLS. Two new balls (Babe Ruth grade or above) to be supplied by the home

team. Each team should provide a game ball for playoff games.

9. RULES. Except herein defined, Federation High School rules will govern all games at

the Pony level.

10. FIELDS. Coaches are to provide a safe playing environment for all players on his and

the opposing team. If possible, have batter’s box; foul lines and out-of-play lines marked.

School fields must maintain a certain safety level or play will not be permitted at that site.

Do whatever possible to ensure safe playing conditions!

11. Note: Jr. Pony teams will play on TUESDAY and THURSDAY nights.
