| Manufactured in late 1944 by Mauser at their Oberndorf plant. It carries the eagle over 135, a government acceptance marking called a Waffenampt. The Waffenampt identifies the inspection team who oversaw production. 135 has been documented on K98K rifles from Mauser Oberndorf from 1941 to 1945. The unusual features, stamped triggerguard, no bayonnet lug, front band secured by screw are all manufacturing shortcuts that appeared near wars end. |
