School Information

The school is situated on the second level of a brand new building in an exciting neighborhood of La Piedad. Each classroom overlooks the streets and city park of Colonia del Carmen area in La Piedad. Each classroom accommodates a maximum of 15 students; therefore, your maximum class size is relatively small.

Within the classrooms, all furniture has been custom made, including the student tables, teachers' desks, and the tv/audio equipment stands.  The classrooms have televisions, stereos, and dry erase white boards. Each classroom has a personal computer. You have computer and internet access in the classroom during the schools hours of operation. Internet use can be utilized for both a class tool and email.

Every class and course is well equiped with resources at our teachers' disposal. Each individual course comes as a multilevel series, each offering videos, video workbooks, audio cds for the workbooks and student books, test packages, teachers' manuals, students' books, students' workbooks, resource packs, and placement exams.

We offer classes and courses for everyone: young learners, teens, and adults... from teen basic to adult advanced. Our weekday classes are 40 minutes in length.  Teachers generally teach one morning class, and an afternoon session from 3-8:20pm. We prefer not to schedule classes on weekends, in order to give our teachers time to explore La Piedad and the region. The typical, private English school in Mexico requires esl teachers to conduct weekend classes.

The New York School of English has great relations with the people of La Piedad. The school treats its students with absolute respect. We are not a stuffy, callous business, and we take pride offering them an English education with friendly, courteous, amiable teachers.

Our teachers need to be mature professionals, who take pride in a job well done. A well planned class is a must. Our teachers must work well as a team or feel comfortable enough to work independently. We give our teachers plenty of freedom for creativity, with a minimum amount of supervision and interference. We need individuals who are dynamic and flexible. Our teachers need to be instinctive leaders. A good teacher continually learns and improves, and knows the subject matter before entering a classroom. Ultimately, our teachers need to create a fun, energetic, quality classroom experience for our students.

Our teachers not only represent our school and students while here in la Piedad, they also represent their home country and culture. It is very important to represent yourself with class and dignity, as well as respecting Mexican culture, tradition, and ways of life, regardless if you may have a difference in opinion.

In the immediate vicinity of the school, there are internet cafes, restaurants, an ice cream parlor, a city park, a supermarket, a copy center, a pizza parlour, a photo center, taco stands, etc.... and they all are within a few blocks from the school.
