Kae Goes Shopping!

House of Cyn (#910)
Welcome to House of Cyn, a clothing store for children of all ages. To the left of the door are racks of men's trousers and shirts. To the right are articles of clothing for women. In the back of the store opposite the mens section are small shelves of clothes for children. Screened off opposite the womens section is dedicated to unmentionables. So we won't mention them.

Kryll bobs up and down in a strange flitting motion as he tries to remain in the air. in from the Hold Shops.

Marissa nods, following Myan into the clothing shop. "Yes... Same for me." She says, responding to the query with a small smile on her face.

Bronwyn eyes the newcomers. "Can I help someone?"

Myan turns as more people come in. He moves back and off to one side, to allow the customers room to peruse.

Kryll takes a deep breath, puffing up his cheeks, and, in a cold gush, disappears ::between::!

Kaeryn quietly wanders in, her soft blue gaze shifting around the room, looking for an area to begin browsing. A respectful nod is offered in the Weaver Master's direction, accompanied by a smile. "Do you have decorative and furnishings? I'm looking for something to warm up a room a little. If you would be so kind as to point me in the correct direction, I'll browse a bit."

Tarrie slips around the door, absently heading directly to the back of the shop. It's not, of course, normally this busy; a few moments pass as the woman notes the presence of people -- more than /one/. "Eehhhh?" How brilliant. "May I help someone, then?" That's better.

Bronwyn steps forward a bit. "We have a few tapestries suitable for decorating. They're rolled up over on that table along teh far wall."

Bronwyn flashes a smile at Tarrie and looks back over at the apprentices. "If this is your first shop shift, just watch until you get the hang of things."

Marissa steps back a bit as well. Wow, all these people. She smiles at Bronwyn as she suggests for her to stand and watch.

Myan nods, and bows to Bronwyn, it obviously is his first as he looked quite uncomfortable until she spoke.

Kaeryn bobs her head once again to Bronwyn before moving aside to study the tapestries, pausing partway there, "I don't suppose you'd have rugs of any sort as well, would you?" The harper journeywoman grins, realizing she may just be asking for a little more than they usually carry.

Oneilr says, "Is there any /special/ clothes tor a pregnant friend?"

Bronwyn hmms. "We have a few made up. What size were you looking for?"

Marissa stands off to one side of the shop, looking about at the other weavers and the customers, taking everything in. She keeps most of her attention on Bronwyn and Kaeryn, listening to carefully to take everything in.

Tarrie takes a couple more steps forward, careful to avoid joggling elbows. Ah-hah. A victim. Slipping over to Oneilr, the Journeyman quirks a brow. "For pregnant friends? I don't believe we have anything, but I can make something up that ought to suit her well enough, if you want."

"Either a large one, or several small ones," Kae replies, shrugging her shoulders to show she isn't picky. "I need enough to cover the floor of a room, to keep my daughter off the cold stone."

Bronwyn thinks for a moment. "I believe we have up one in the hall that is about two manlengths by one and half. Would that be about the right size?"

Fango slips in, hsi presence as usual announced by the telltale taptaptap of his cane and a few indignant cheeps of firelizards as their home (Fango's shoulderbag) is swung around a little as he walks.

Bronwyn slips in a quick greeting to Fango before turning her attention back to Kaeryn.

Hmm. Tarrie never /thought/ she was that frightening. Ah well. Raising her voice slightly, the woman calls, "Is there anyone else waiting to be helped tonight? I can help someone over here."

Cyry wanders in, Saiper in her arms being still like a good little canine. She smiles, lightly to the people gathered. "There's quite a few people here, Sai," she mumurs to the toy-sized canine before her attention is grasped by the simplistic blouse and skirt. She steps over to get a better look at the flowery pattern and smiles, "This is beautiful, don't you agree, Saiper?" she whispers.

Kaeryn cocks her head to the side, her tongue slipping slowly over her lips as she tries to imagine the length of her room. "That should be just about right. If nothing else, it'll just leave the outer edges of the floor bare, and that would be fine."

Bronwyn nods. "It's a fairly plain design. Just a herringbone in blue and white. Would that be okay?"

Kaeryn grins, nodding just slightly, "Blue and white for the home of a harper, sounds just about as perfect as it could be. Is it soft? Soft enough for an infant to crawl around on, I mean?"

Bronwyn wrinkles her nose. "Well, we can't make rugs that soft or they wouldn't wear well. It's a tightly spun wool weft with linen warp. The tightness of the spinning reduces the scratchiness of the wool, though. It is certainly softer than stone." She smiles.

A light laugh and a shrug of her shoulders shows that Kae isn't really all that familiar with the workings of the weavers, and she grins again, "That's what I meant. Just the padding of it, basically. I'm not worried much about her skin against the fabric, I'm sure that would be fine."

Bronwyn nods. "It's fairly heavy, so it will absorb the impact of boots against stone and any tumbles she might take."

Fango slips along the wall, (hopefully no one's standing there, or they may get their toes cane-tapped) vaugly toward Bronwyn. "Anything I can help with?" Silly Fango, talking soft as usual. Can't help many people if they can't hear him, can you?

Terpsichore looks around, taking in everything in the shop in silence. A slight smile spreads across her lips at the sight of that yellow pillow, and she moves closer to take a examine it.

Tarrie bounces up onto her tiptoes, waving her hands above her head. "Really! I can help /someone/ over here..." she calls, attempting to make herself heard.

"Sounds perfect, then," the harper jouneywoman nods, reaching out to touch one of the nearby tapestries. "I've furniture and rugs enough for one room, but I'm going to be crossposted between here and the weyr, so I'm stuck redecorating. This tapestry would go so well on the wall nearest the bed," Kae fingers the Flight Tapestry, the trained eyes of an artist studying the work. "It's magnificent, truly.

Bronwyn shakes her head. "I'm okay, Fango, though one of hte other weavers might need a hand."

Cyry glances over Tarrie and smiles, "Um, excuse me, you could help me if you like."

Mana slides across the room, finally stepping out from shadows. "I'm open?" she says, giving a soft gesture. Okay, Mana. Step one: Speak louder. Attempting to assist customers without their request, and not succeeding, Mana sighs and decides to try again. Maybe they just weren't trying to listen?

Tarrie grins, a rare expression these days. "Good. Finally, someone speaks up. What, then, were you looking for?" she asks, tilting her head to one side. "Ah. I'm Journeyman Tarrie, by the way." The hasty addendum, however, isn't rare at all -- one thing that Tarrie lacks is, as ever, a memory.

Bronwyn nods at Kaeryn. "Well, this is certainly the place to come for that. Yes, that is quite a nice tapestry. Would you like that as well?"

Cyry smiles, "Well met, Journeyman Tarrie. I'm Cyry," she introduces and points to the simplistic blouse and skirt. "How much is *that*?" she asks, cradling Saiper in one arm. She could've always used her marks for another canine but new clothes is something she could use more of.

Terpsichore looks around for someone that isn't busy. "Eh, can anyone tell me how much this costs?" she questions, holding up the patchwork pillow.

Tarrie spares not a glance at the clothing; it being of her own design would, of course, make her quite aware of it. "Two marks, actually," she replies, flicking a stray curl of mousy-brown hair out of her face. "And quite a deal at that price."

The Harper Apprentice hmmms and looks around the shop, trying to find something he wants, "Ummm...can someone help me?" Lionel asks, looking around to see if there is anyone to help him.

"I think I'll take it, yes," Kae bobs her head up and down, releasing the tapestry so she can continue browsing about the store. "Going to speak with someone about furniture tomorrow. I could use a few bed covers, as well, though..." Blue eyes gaze around the store toward the other customers, "I can browse on my own if you need to help someone else. I'm in no hurry, for once."

Fango tilts his head a little, and since he's (obviously) not busy, he carefully makes his way toward Lionel, trying not to run over anyone or something. (it happens..) "How can I help..?"

Lionel turns his head and smiles at the weaver apprentice, "Hello Fango, how have you been?" he asks as he folds his arms, his smile soft and friendly.

Cyry wrinkles her nose a bit, thinking. "Two marks?" she repeats, running it over in her mind. "Is there any chance you'd barter a bit?" After all, Cyry is a Harper, "If not, i understand." Her smile says it all that she's fine with anything.

Marissa, noticing Terpsichore's interest in the yellow pillow, strolls up to her. "Are you interested in buying that pillow?" She says, with a kind, glowing smile printed on the apprentice's face. "It costs 1/8 marks. It's positively lovely, isn't it? Such a nice color..."

Bronwyn nods at Kaeryn. "The rug is one and a half marks and the tapestry would be two and a half. As for the bed covers, you might want to check back in a few days."

Aldara slips in, silent and looking distinctly amused. Indigo gaze travels lazily over the scene, and finally the northerner relaxes against the wall. Such ambiance. Making money. Joy.

Tarrie tilts her head, considering. "How about one and three-quarters, then?" she suggests, padding over to the wall and bringing the dress down. "It's quite a nice outfit, if I say so myself. I made it with quite a bit of care."

Cyry smiles and nods, "It looks marvelous. 1 3/4 marks it is then." Opening a small pouch, she removes 1 3/4 marks and holds them out in her palm for Tarrie.

Fango smiles, "I'm fine..." is his reply to Lionel, as he stands with his hands folded lightly atop his cane. "How're you?"

Tarrie accepts the marks calmly, slipping them into her beltpouch. They'll be given into the Craft at a less chaotic point. "Well, here you go. Do you have any questions as to the care of the material and the outfit, or do you think you're all set?"

Kae touches the bag that dangles from one of her wrists, and nods, "I'm not in a rush. I don't have to be settled in the room into the beginning of spring, anyway. Could you have the rug brought up to my room in a couple days then? I can bring up the tapestry myself, I'm sure." After a long pause, she glances around the room, then grins at Bronwyn again, "I would like to purchase some clothing as well, or have a few things made."

Lionel closes his eyes and chuckles softly, "I'm doing well I'd have to say. Anyways, can you help me..do you have any other Gather Dresses besides this gray one here?"

Terpsichore smiles at Marissa. "Aye, 'tis lovely, and I could use anothr pillow for my cot, this one would do very well. 1/8, that I can afford!" she says.

Cyry smiles and folds the blouse and skirt carefully in her arm, Saiper in the other, whimpering slightly at having to share her attention with fabric. "Thank you very much."

Aldara still lurks back in the corner, eyes taking in the clothing and the customers with a calm sort of curiousity. Pretty, they are.

Fango smiles, "Well..I'm sure that if we don't one can be made for you." he tilts his head a little bit, perhaps searching his memory for something. "If you like the gray one, I'm sure if you speak to whoever made it, they might make it in another color for you.."

Bronwyn nods. "I'll certainly send the rug over within a sevenday and you can take the tapestry with you. I can have one of teh apprentices take your commission for clothing, if you like."

"That would be just perfect," Kae nods politely, adding a soft, "I appreciate your assistance. Truly. If you need a harper for anything..." she leaves the offer open and pats her bag again, "Shall I pay you now, or take care of it all at once then?"

Mana yawns, continuing to search through crowd. "Excuse me? I'm open! Yes, me. Want to buy something? I'm right here...." Yes. Come, children. Come and... err. Silky clothes move fluidly with Mana as she idly thinks about her wardrobe. Ah, yes. Winter clothing...

Lionel smiles and puts his hand on Fango's shoulder, squeezing it lightly, "I'd very much appreciate it if you can find out if it comes in any other colors."

Marissa's smile remains on her face as she responds, "Yes, yes, it's very nice. And not too expensive. Would you like to purchase it, then?" Her eyes glitter along with her smile.

Terpsichore waves to Baine, holding up the pillow. "Look what I found!" she calls to him, then turns back to Marissa. "Aye, I would," she says, digging out her marks.

Aldara pushes off from the wall, beginning to wander, drifting with the crowd but lingering along one wall in particular. Greetings are nodded to a few people, the 'woman ebbing and flowing from end to end. Like the sea, 'tis.

Ah, it seems that everything's... in hand. Sort of. Tarrie, careful to avoid the milling crowds, slips towards the door. There's that little bit of smocking to finish...

Baine smiles and walks over to her. "What have you found?" he asks.

Bronwyn grins. "not a problem. Yes, you can pay me now and then I'll hand you over to one of hte apprentices for the clothing stuff."

Marissa continues to smile as Terpsichore pays her the 1/8 mark for the pillow. The apprentice pockets it for the time being, before saying, "Thank you! Is there anything else I can help you with?" This sale thing isn't so difficult after all.

Terpsichore holds up the Patchwork Pillow for Baine to see. "No, I don't believe so. I can't really afford anything else....but perhaps you can sell something to my friend here?" she tugs Baine over.

Kae tips her 'purse' slightly, allowing a few of the wooden marks to spill from the bag into her hand. After quietly counting out four marks worth, she extends her hand, holding the marks, to Bronwyn, "It's been a pleasure doing business with you, of course."

Marissa nods, "Alright then, I'm glad I could help you." She turns towards Baine as he approaches, saying, "Can I help you with anything?"

Baine looks nervously from Oree to the other lady. Great... Just great. He can never say no to a saleswoman, even if he doens't want what they're selling...

Baine shakes his head quickly. "No, no thank you!"

Aldara leans forward over a table, running one finger along the edge of some fabric and talking softly to the apprentice there. Satisfied, she makes her way on down the line, occassionally flicking glances to the circulating salespersons.

Marissa continues to smile, though her smile fades just slightly at Baine's quick reply. "Well... alright, if you're sure. But do look around, and if you see anything you like, just ask! There's plenty of nice things here."

Fango tilts his head, "I think Mana made this one..." he comments, "I'll try and see if I can find her to see if she will..."

Bronwyn pockets the marks from Kaeryn. "Yes, it has." She looks around. "Well, it seems that all the appies are busy. Perhaps you could come back later?"

Mana sweeps through crowd, poking random customers. "Yes, would you like that?" "I can help you!" "I'm Mana, and I'd like for you to purchase that!... Well, yes... true..." Helpful words float from mouth but do no good, and Mana sulks over to the other side of the room. "Hrmph. People can be /so/ rude."

Baine glances at Oree. "Ready to go?"

Aldara twitches the edge of her dress eyeing it and comparing to a pattern on the wall. Glance flicks to Mana, the northern woman calling out, "I would like some help, if you have the time, miss?"

Terpsichore shrugs. "If you don't want anything, I suppose. I can't afford anything else here, so..."

Fango tilts his head a little, "Oh...I'll be right back..." he says, directed toward Lionel, and then starts over toward Mana.

Baine suddenly gets an idea. "Is there anything else you like?"

Kaeryn nods her head, pushing a lock of golden hair out of her face, "I'll come back the next time I'm at the hold, which should be just a few days or so from now. Until then, thank you for your assistance."

Bronwyn nods. "I'll see you then."

Marissa returns, sending a firelizard off to deliver the message.

Kaeryn waves as she slips out the door, carefully holding the tapestry in her arms.
