Panthers 16U Red Win Pony Qualifier

 Clifton New Jersey June 15 & 16, 2002

  The New York Panthers 16U Red squad won the New Jersey Charmers Pony tournament to qualify for the Pony nationals.
  In the first game Allison Castellucci was the winning pitcher and Carolyn Krause hit a two-run homer as the Panthers beat the Charmers 7-1.
  In game two, Kim Keshecki pitched a complete game while Krause hit a double and a triple as the Panthers shut-out the Brewster Rockets 7-0. Diana Ruddy (two RBI) and Kristin Brennan (two runs scored) each had two hits.
  The Panthers defeated the Staten Island Saints 2-0 behind the pitching of Allison Castellucci. Alyson Slattery had two triples and Amalia DiTrapani drove in a run.
  Kim Keshecki was the winning pitcher in a 6-1 victory over the New Jersey Rocks as Slattery, Ashley Frange and Kristin Brennan led the offense.

  The Panthers 16U Red Team enjoyed a successful 2002 season. In addition to winning the Clifton tournament the Red squad finished second three times and third once , with an overall record of 34-18, a team batting average over 300, fielding % over 900, and a team ERA of 1.24. 
 The Red squad was a young team and had only one junior, the rest of the team consisted of eleven sophomores and one freshman and will continue to play into the fall with a mix of players from our organization.
