The New York Panthers 12U squad won
the Richmond County Sapphires Pony tournament to qualify for the Pony nationals.
In the Quarter final game the Panthers defeated the Sapphires B 15-5
behind winning pitcher Alexa Rocella. Jillian Rini (3 for 4, 4 RBI)
and Nicole Rescigno (2-4, 2 RBI) provided the offense.
In the Semi's, the Panthers won 13-1, eliminating the LI Chargers. Winning
pitcher Rachael Schafler tossed a two hitter while Jaclyn Bonnaci (3-4, 2 RBI)
and Jenna Cunningham (2 RBI) had a good game at the plate.
The Panthers defeated the Sapphires 8-1 in the championship game, Jaclyn
Senzino 7k's and gave up only three hits was the winning pitcher. Gabby
Payne and Kristen Whelan played stellar defense.
