INT. ARENA – NIGHT
MATCH: Spike Dudley vs. Cynric
Cynric’s theme hits and he makes his way to the ring, doing a martial arts demonstration.
JR: Here comes Cynric, the martial artist from Bellbrookville. He made a splash about a month ago, helping the PPV Squad get the better of the Big Show, even though he was under a mask at the time.
King: Spike Dudley sure didn’t appreciate his covert operations, did he?
JR: He certainly did not, especially after Cynric attacked him after his match with Nykk. Spike made the challenge Monday on Raw, and here we are.
Spike Dudley’s theme hits, and he runs to the ring, attacking Cynric with a double leg pickup. The bell rings, and Spike lays some right hands into Cynric.
Cynric starts to block them after about three, and palm strikes Spike in the face. Spike gets up, holding his face. Cynric whips him into the ropes and bends down, driving his elbow into Spike’s midsection. As Spike leans over, Cynric brings his hand up to strike Spike with the back of his palm. Spike staggers and Cynric sweeps his legs from under him, going for the cover. He gets a two count. He picks Spike up and backs him into the corner, connecting with several knife-edge chops. He whips Spike to the opposite corner, and Spike tips up out of the corner.
As Cynric turns around, Spike shoots forward and headbutts Cynric in the midsection. Cynric bends over and receives a DDT from Spike. Spike covers and gets a two count. Spike gets to his feet and Spike applies a headlock. He wrenches it in, but Cynric throws him into the ropes.
Spike bounces off and Cynric connects with as a shoulderblock, sending Spike down. Cynric bounces off the ropes and Spike drops down. Cynric bounces off the ropes again, and Spike leapfrogs only to have his foot yanked out of the air by Cynric, sending him crashing to his back. Spike gets up and tries a right hand, but Cynric grabs the arm and throws Spike over his shoulder to the mat, applying a cross armbreaker. After about twenty seconds, Spike reaches the ropes and Cynric breaks the hold. He stomps on Spike’s arm and then applies an armwringer, bending Spike over and driving an elbow into the shoulder joint. Cynric kicks Spike in the midsection two times, and then in the head, sending Spike down. Cynric picks Spike up, but he fights back with some rights. Cynric blocks another right and tries a crescent kick, and Spike ducks. However, Cynric follows through with a sweep in one motion, knocking Spike down. He covers and gets a two count. He picks Spike up and whips him into the corner. He charges and tries a jump kick, but Spike moves and Cynric smacks his leg in the corner.
He turns around and Spike kicks at the knee. He whips Cynric to the opposite corner and Cynric crashes into the turnbuckles. As he staggers out, Spike dropkicks him, sending him down for a two count. He picks Cynric up and signals for the Dudley Dog. He goes for it, but Cynric throws him off.
As Spike gets to one knee, Cynric runs at him and steps off the raised knee to drive his own knee into Spike’s face. Spike collapses on the mat and Cynric covers for the three count.
Winner: Cynric at 3:51
JR: Oh my God, what was that!?
King: I don’t know, JR, but that’ll break a nose.
JR: Spike is completely knocked out, and Cynric is our winner.
Cynric gives another short martial arts demonstration before leaving the ring.

INT. PROMO SET – NIGHT
Michael Cole is standing by with Nykk and Croooooow, who are holding the tag title belts on their shoulders.
Cole: PPV Squad… Nykk, Croooooow, now is the time for you to put your newly won tag team titles on the line against the APA. Are there any thoughts you wish to share with us before going into this match?
Nykk: Michael, you’re right. It’s time. You know, back when this event was called In Your House, the December 1995 event was subtitled “It’s Time.” It was there that Bret Hart reclaimed his SummerSlam ’92 loss to the British Bulldog by fighting an intense and bloody match for the World Wrestling Federation Title. Just like tonight, we’re going to gain a victory over the APA because they beat us… well, never! It will be intense, Michael, it could be a twenty minute classic, it may be bloody, but rest assured when we beat the bigger, stronger APA, we will raise our belts and hold our chins high.
Croooooow: And then run like hell!
They leave Michael Cole with a bewildered look on his face.
INT. ARENA - MATCH
MATCH: The APA vs. Nykk and Croooooow
The PPV Squad theme hits as Nykk and Croooooow make their way to the ring.
JR: That was quite an interesting speech made by Nykk there. He’s comparing them to Bret Hart?
King: Well, there are some similarities, JR. Like he said, the APA are bigger and stronger, but that guy Croooooow’s a pugnacious guy, and Nykk’s tough, let me tell you.
JR: He’s a windbag.
King: What!?
The APA theme hits and Faarooq and Bradshaw make their way to the ring.
JR: Here come the APA, who have been looking for this shot at the tag team titles since they lost them back in August. Tonight they’ll receive that shot against the PPV Squad.
The bell rings to start the match. Bradshaw decides to start for the APA, but Nykk and Croooooow argue over who’s going to start the match. After a few moments, Bradshaw turns away in impatience, so they both attack him from behind. They back him into the corner and try to whip him to the opposite side, but Bradshaw comes out with a double clothesline instead, flooring both of them. Croooooow rolls out of the ring, but Bradshaw grabs Nykk’s ponytail and yanks him to his feet. He rams his face into the turnbuckle and then unloads on him with some punches and knife-edge chops. He whips Nykk into the ropes, but he ducks Bradshaw’s clothesline and hits a flying shoulderblock on the rebound that doesn’t budge Bradshaw. Bradshaw socks him in the gut and then executes a vertical suplex. He brings Nykk over to his corner, where he tags Faarooq. He holds him while Faarooq delivers a shot to the ribs. Faarooq applies an armwringer, cranking on it hard.
After a few moments, Nykk pulls the ref between them and in the confusion, pokes Faarooq in the eye. Faarooq lets go and Nykk executes a northern lights suplex for a two count. Nykk dropkicks him as he gets up, sending Faarooq down for a moment.
Nykk bounces off the ropes, but Faarooq clotheslines him hard. He brings Nykk up and lifts him for the Dominator, but Nykk wriggles free and pushes Faarooq into his corner. He tags Croooooow, who whips Faarooq into the ropes. Faarooq sends Croooooow down with a shoulderblock. Faarooq bounces off the ropes and Croooooow drops down. Faarooq bounces off the ropes again as Croooooow leapfrogs. Faarooq stops and waits behind Croooooow while he leapfrogs again, expecting Faarooq to come off the ropes again. When he doesn’t, Croooooow turns around and receives Faarooq’s spinebuster. Faarooq covers and gets a two count. He brings Croooooow up by the hair and tags Bradshaw. They whip Croooooow into the ropes and hit a double spinebuster. Bradshaw brings Croooooow to his feet and executes a backdrop suplex. He drops an elbow onto Croooooow and covers for a two count. Croooooow gets to his feet and gets whipped into the ropes.
Croooooow ducks a clothesline and dropkicks the knee, staggering Bradshaw. Croooooow hits a DDT. He tags Nykk and sets Bradshaw up for a reverse DDT. Nykk lifts Bradshaw’s legs and executes a spinebuster at the same time that Croooooow gives him the reverse DDT. Nykk covers and gets a two count. When Bradshaw gets to his feet, Nykk whips him into the ropes and hits a drop toehold. He lifts the knee and slams it into the mat. He tries to apply the Bellbrookville Cedarleaf, but Bradshaw kicks him away. Bradshaw gets to his feet, limping, but Nykk continues to kick at the knee. He tries to whip him into the ropes, but Bradshaw reverses. Nykk tries a high cross body but Bradshaw catches him, looking for a fallaway slam. However, Croooooow runs in and clotheslines Bradshaw. Nykk falls on top of him and gets a two count. Nykk brings Bradshaw up and tags Croooooow. They both apply a headlock to Bradshaw and land a double bulldog on him. Croooooow applies his STF. After about thirty seconds, Bradshaw manages to make it to the ropes. Croooooow continues the assault on the knee by lifting the leg and kicking the joint. He tags Nykk and they apply a double armwringer to Bradshaw.
They both give him a knife-edge chop at once, but Bradshaw swings them inward and slams them in to each other. He follows up with a double clothesline, sending them all down. Bradshaw crawls toward his corner, but the ref turns his attention to Croooooow, who tries to storm over. Bradshaw tags Faarooq, who lays into Nykk with some rights, but the ref makes him get out of the ring.
Nykk drags Bradshaw back to the center of the ring and applies the Bellbrookville Cedarleaf. After another twenty seconds, Bradshaw makes it to the ropes and Nykk relinquishes the hold and tags Croooooow, who drops a leg on the back of Bradshaw’s head. He lifts Bradshaw and manages to scoop slam him. He tags Nykk, who goes to the top rope. After a few moments of preparation, he launches into a splash, but Bradshaw moves.
Nykk crashes to the mat and holds his chest. They both crawl to their corners. Nykk tags Croooooow, who runs in and grabs Bradshaw’s leg. However, Bradshaw tags Faarooq who comes in with right hands to Croooooow. He whips Croooooow into the ropes and executes a powerslam. He covers and gets a two count. He whips him into the ropes again and hits a flying shoulderblock. Faarooq hits the Dominator and covers. He only gets two as Nykk runs in to break up the count. Bradshaw comes in and sends Nykk down with a right hand. The APA put the PPV Squad members in opposite corners, pounding on them. They try to whip them into each other, but Nykk ducks and Croooooow leapfrogs. Croooooow promptly gets clotheslined by Faarooq and Nykk gets back body dropped by Bradshaw. Bradshaw sets Croooooow up and they deliver their spike powerbomb. Faarooq covers, but Nykk breaks up the count again. They deliver the spike powerbomb to Nykk. They bring him up and Bradshaw tries a hard right, but Nykk blocks and tries a right of his own. Bradshaw ducks and then they execute their backdrop suplex/neckbreaker combo. Croooooow attacks Bradshaw, but gets sent down with a right hand. Faarooq holds Nykk for Bradshaw to punch. After Bradshaw hits him numerous times, he finally throws Nykk down, and he rolls out of the ring. Bradshaw bounces off the ropes and hits the Clothesline from Hell on Croooooow as Nykk retrieves the belts. Before Bradshaw can cover, Nykk pulls Croooooow from the ring and helps him to the entrance ramp. They stagger up the ramp while the APA looks after them angrily. The ref’s count reaches ten and he rings the bell. The APA win by count-out, but the PPV Squad keep the belts.
Winners: The APA at 11:56
JR: That was a cheap way out. What happened to defeating their stronger adversaries and raising their heads high?
King: I don’t know, JR. I thought for sure we were going to have new tag team champions.
JR: The titles can only change hands via pinfalls or submissions, folks. Since the APA won by count-out, they win the match but don’t receive the titles. Some tag team champions these guys turned out to be.
King: I don’t know, JR. It’s kind of smart. You don’t have to beat your challengers to keep the titles. Maybe it was better for them to run away and fight another day.
JR: I have to believe that sooner or later, the APA will get another shot at the PPV Squad, and they may not be so lucky.
