| The Philadelphia Story Firstly, thank you to Dave Lieber, his dedicated staff members, parents, and volunteers for hosting the Beast of the East Annual Tournament on Feb. 5th, 2005. The participating teams were: Baltimore, New York City, and Philadelphia. The tournament was run very smoothly and attracted over 100 Starlings participants. It was fun for everyone. Our participants were content , appreciative, and proud of their achievements in their first tournament of the season. They also met new people, new starlings players, and had a lot of fun. This tournament, in essence, proved to be a wealth of self- discovery and knowledge acquisition to many of our new and younger players. Three of the four teams that participated from New York City Starlings went undefeated and only one lost one game. The hard work and the dedication our participants have demonstrated in practice is paying off its dividends. They were majestic on and off the court treating everyone with the utmost respect while playing very competitively within the spirit of wholesome competition. Philadelphia as well as Baltimore were very fierce competitors and played very well. Our entire coaching staff was also very proud of our players performance and behaviour on and off the court. |
