Manhattan, New York: Ritz is a very energetic, social, charismatic Siamese mix who loves to run and jump and play. He is looking for a home with lots of space and an adopter who has time to spend playing with him. He loves to catch and fetch furry mouse toys! Raised by hand from the age of 3 weeks, Ritz is a "people cat" who is loving and outgoing, but he prefers to climb into your lap rather than being picked up and held. Ritz is very sensitive to new odors in the house, especially the odors of other cats. He does not get along with other cats at all and may even become upset when he sees himself in the mirror! Ritz needs to be the only cat in the household. However, he does get along just fine with well-mannered dogs. Ritz has been adopted! Hurray! Thanks!

| 2006-07-29 | Uniondale, Long Island: A stray bluepoint Siamese gave birth to these kits, but took off before she could be trapped and neutered. Stray Cat Strut and Darling Nikki need placement before their caretaker goes off to college, so time is of the essence! The cats are very social: Strut is definately the dominant of the duo. She eats first, she decides where her sister can and can't lounge, etc. She's a little hunter, too! A mini-panther, if you will. But she's so loving! She loves to cuddle up against you, sleep in your lap while you're watching TV, and just be around you. But she needs her alone time, too, and if you're not giving it to her, she WILL let you know. She doesn't scratch, but she has this...this glare! I'm telling you, when Strut gives you that look, you stop whatever you're doing on the dime! Nikki is a dog stuck in a cat's body! She's pretty submissive, and can be flinchy (she doesn't do sudden movements). But affectionate barely begins to describe her! She'll go out her way to get a scratch behind the ears, I swear it. Cuddles, belly scritches, kisses, hugs, you name it. And she LOOOOOOVES to play! Forget expensive cat toys - a bottle cap, a string, or even a bug can entertain her for long lengths of time. She's such a sweetie, that girl. IF YOU CAN HELP, Please email Oluademi at [email protected].

| 2006-07-02 | New York: A beautiful, sweet and very vocal 1 year old Seal Point Siamese named Ming available for adoption complete all vaccinations up to date and on file with the Port Washington Animal Hospital here on Long Island. I've had very little time to spend with this beautiful cat and feel he deserves a better home. Any advice or referrals you can provide on his behalf is greatly appreciated as I don't want to have to bring him to my local animal shelter. Please email Jerry at [email protected].

| 2006-03-27 | Brewster, New York: Two very attached feline brothers were abandoned in the driveway of a commercial kennel. One is a flame point siamese and the other a tabby. They are both males, appear to be neutered and (from what I've heard) are very affectionate and well fed. They need a home or foster situation immediately. Please email Dayan at [email protected].

| 2006-01-23 | Brooklyn, New York: Lady Penny (Penelope) is losing her home due to an eviction on 1/31/2006. She is very pretty, with the cutest brown nose, and white toes. Lady Penny is simply the sweetest cat and a very happy girl. She would prefer to be your one and only, as she is not socialized with other cats. She just has been spayed and had a dentistry, so she is all ready for a new home. If you can help, please email Jasmin at [email protected]. | |
| 2005-12-06 | New York: This Siamese-Calico mix mom and her snowshoe kittens were abandoned outside by a callous family. Despite their neglect, these felines are super-friendly and the kittens are 8 months old now, and momma is likely only 7 months older than her kits! They are sweet and gentle and do fine with other felines. None of them are dominant cats. These kitties all like their backs and butts petted. They like to play and they enjoy people though they will be shy at first. THe boy is very forward. Gabby yowls to be fed. Athena purrs when you pick her up once she is used to you. Momma likes to be petted if you approach her her slowly. She must have been slapped around by the people who put her out, but if you approach her with treat-in-hand, that decreases her fear and she will enjoy being petted. If you can help these poor babies, please email Madeline at [email protected]. |
|
| 2005-11-29 | New York: Uno the Great is a 5 year old flamepoint point with a long long body and tail; when he stretches out he must be over 4 feet long, and skinny, but when he sits in a bundle you can see why he weighs somewhere between 10-12 pounds. He has one big blue eye; the other is cloudy white, basically the third eyelid sealed shut due to a feline herpes (not catching)
that messed with the eyes of many of his cattery mates. I was told he was originally brought to Bide-A-Wee from a breeder who was trying to close his business. He loves affection and loves to play, with people and cats alike. He'll be the king of your bed if you let him (and you'll want to let him!) and purrs at the slightest touch. He is neutered. And he still has his claws and wants to keep them, so he needs a companion who has them, too. Aside from his winky eye (which sort of makes his face seem like he's suspicious of you all the time), which only affects his depth of perception a little bit, he's got a steel piece in his leg due to a break that occurred when he was with his foster mom. You'd
never know he broke the leg; I don't even remember which one it was because he wasn't living with me at the time. The Bobst hospital took stellar care of him. He's a healthy, healthy boy with a slight history of overgrooming (i believe this is due to being an only-cat) which clears up quickly with antibiotics. I'm having a full work-up done on him to make sure he's just nervous and not having allergies or similar. I'm sure I could go on and on about every detail of his loving wonderfulness, so
feel free to let me know if you need more info. If you can help, please email Jennifer at [email protected] email. |

| 2005-07-23 ********** ADOPTED! ********** | New York: Samantha was rescued from a deli where she spent her days inside a small carry-case -- to be let out only at night to catch mice. Then she spent a short while with a couple who decided to drop a new cat in her face. Understandably enough, Samantha was upset and shocked at being the one ousted as a result! Now this little seal snowshoe girl is in another foster home but her foster mom is losing patience with this kitty's panic-bites. She really needs a stable, adult-only home with a patient person who can encourage her trust. ********** ADOPTED! **********. |

| 2005-06-13 ********** ADOPTED! ********** | near Philadelphia, PA: Sunee has had quite a time for such a pretty siamese girl. She was most likely abandoned by her owner in January or earlier. She proved very hard to catch and with good food and shelter she made it through the cold winter and is now inside. It turns out that she is just a lovely, tame kitty left outside to fend for herself! Unfortunately, she paid a price and is FIV+. She also broke her toe outside but made it through anyway and it healed on its own. She just LOVES the rediscovery of petting and purring! She is shy around new people at first after all of her experiences but she is extremely affectionate and purrs constantly. This girl really needs a home that she can call her own and never struggle again. FIV+ cats can often live a normal life with good food, an indoor home and regular vet visits! It is of course, not contagious to dogs or people. Sunee is looking for a single cat home or a home with an FIV+ cat friend. Sunee is about 2 to 3 years old is already spayed, vet checked, and up to date with all vaccinations. She is all ready for a new home. You may contact Sarah with any questions. Vet references or personal references will be required.

| 2005-06-03 | Staten Island, New York: Sadly, this boy once beloned to someone. He was wandering the streets and no owner came forward. He is over 10 years old and needs a home. Full CBC was completed and urine was taken. This boy is healthy and not dying. He is sooooo nice that he is sitting in a cage now at a foster home because we all have too many cats in our home. He deserves a 2nd chance to be loved by someone. He is fully vetted, tested negative for Felv/fiv and neutered. He will also be groomed. Please email Joann at [email protected],

Greenfield, MA: Currently we have a 6 year old wonderful, friendly, easy going, and very lovable chocolate point siamese in our shelter. Recently her behavior had changed to being very out going to extremely quiet, mainly hiding in her kitty condo. This prompted us to bring her to the Vet's office only to dicover that she was in the beginning phase of renal failure. For a month we gave her SQ fluids and made her as happy and comfortable as possible. She quickly perked up and began eating and drinking well, gaining a full pound with in that time period. We recently had her blood levels checked again. Unfortunately, we found that again the numbers krept slightly. We have tried our local siamese rescue and they have refused to give her SQ fluids even when needed (they felt uncomfortable with the task, understandable). We have quickly run out of options and her date to be euthanised is in 2.5 weeks. Unfortunatley we are unable to place her from our shelter due to the fact that our customers that come through are not interested in taking on an animal with alot of "issues." The vet told us that she would have to be on K/D for the rest of her life and receive SQ fluids several times a week. She stated that at some point the levels will bump up again and she will start exibiting signs of renal failure. BUT, on the upside she may live a full life to 13yrs or so with the proper attention. However, as you know there are never guarentees. To make a long story short we are trying all that we can for this sweetheart and would love any help you could offer us. For more information on how you can foster or adopt this sweet bab, please email Eden at the Pioneer Valley Humane Society in Greenfield, MA: ********** ADOPTED! ********** Thank You!

Quincy, MA: KIT - This 6 year old Siamese mix is a very sweet boy who came to us recently due to a change in family circumstances. His handsome markings and gentle demeanor made him a quick favorite of the shelter Volunteers. We started to notice that Kit was drinking a lot of water and some tests by our Veterinarian have determined that Kit has diabetes. Cats, like people, can live normal lives with diabetes if properly cared for, and the treatment typically involves high protein foods and oral medication, which is currently managing his diabetes. We are looking for a very special foster or adoptive home for Kit - if you would like to make a difference, please consider opening your home to this beautiful boy. ********** ADOPTED! ********** Thank You!.

Westerly, RI: Magic is delightful with a charming gentle personality. He is only small underneath a big fluffy smoky grey coat. He has a perfect shiny face and very clear eyes. He loves attention and craves affection. He was
adopted out and later returned because he would occasionally miaow loudly on
the owners knee and then swat at her. We do not know if this is in his
nature or just him requiring neutering and needing time to settle in an
unstressful, quite home. We hear that he likes to sleep on the pillow
right next to you. He is called Magic because he managed to open a door
and let himself out of the laundry room! If interested, please contact Louise at ********** ADOPTED! **********

| 2005-01-12 | Fort Lee, New Jersey: Lilac point Siamese with a Russian blue best friend, both females, are looking for a new home due to owner allergies. They are spayed, 5 years old, and need a new home together. Changmi, the Russian Blue, has no health problems and is usually very well behaved, using her litter box and scratching post. (That is, unless you try bathing her.) She also stays off furniture for the most part --
although she will visit your bed from time to time. She is a confident, affectionate and beautiful cat who likes to sit by people's feet and keep them company.
She is also very playful and comes out to say hi to our guests. Nabi, ther Siamese, also has no health problems and is very well behaved. She
is, however, very meek, shy and slow to trust. She hides whenever guests visit and would probably take a very long time adjusting to new cats
or dogs. Once her trust is won, however, she is a very loyal and loving cat, who will purred by your side w is very sensitive to your moods. If interested, please email Kyung-Joo at [email protected] email. |

| 2004-11-20 ********** ADOPTED! ********** | Norwalk, CT:
In an unfortunate circumstance, Kato, a healthy 13 year old pure bred Siamese was brought to our hospital to be euthanized due to situational behavioral issues. Kato had been an only cat for before his owners, who he lived with his entire life, decided to bring another kitten into the house. Kato did not take well to the new addition and instead of returning the kitten the owners felt euthanasia to be a better solution. Kato is a sweet, affectionate Siamese who prefers the house to himself. Since he has been at our hospital he has not displayed any behavioral problems and has warmed up to each of us. Because we are an animal hospital and not a shelter the only exposure he has is with clients who already own cats. This has made placing him difficult and unfortunately he has already spent months in the kennel. While he is content with us at the animal hospital until finding a forever home, I would be grateful if there was any way to post him on your rescue site and allow exposure to those in search of a sweet Siamese. If you can help, please email Kristen ********** ADOPTED! **********.
| 2004-10-26 | NYC, NY: Ruby is a 7 year old seal point Birman and Jazzybelle is a 2 1/2 year old lilac burmese. They are both full pedigree cats(have all their pedigree papers) and are vaccinated. I moved to NYC 2 months ago from London, UK to take up a job which has not worked out and I could not bear to let them go then so I brought them with me. I will be leaving for Australia in 2 weeks time and cannot take them with me as I do not have the money for their trip plus they would have to go through extensive quarantine procedures which I believe would be cruel to put them through again. they not just beautiful but more importantly have the most lovely natures, very friendly, affectionate, gentle, loyal and playful. They have their claws, are both spayed and microchipped with all their vaccinations up to date and I will not seperate them. For more information, please email Rosie at [email protected]. |

| 2004-08-24 | New York, NY: Binky is a beautiful snowshoe siamese girl, around 1 year old, who's been in foster care for a while. she is a special case because she was born without the use of her back legs. She gets around great though and is absolutely a love! I hear she has the loudest purr. Unfortunately, her fosterer can no longer keep her. Binky is somewhat of a challenge because due to the lack of feeling in her back legs, she doesnt always poop in the box, despite her best efforts. Her former fosterer says she seems a bit embarrassed by this. Their are, however, diapers for cats made especially for this issue. I'm beginning to research sanctuaries where she may be able to live, but because she is such a wonderful companion and enjoys human affection so much, I'd like to see her in a home. if you or someone you know is interested in adopting or fostering Binky, or can help her in any way, please contact Raven Sharihan: [email protected] 917-476-7968. | 2004-08-12 | Forest Hills, Queens, NY: A adult, spayed, disease-free Sealpoint Himalayan cat that needs a new home asap. Her previous owner abandoned her while I was cat sitting. Sophia is very likeable and easy to care for -- she's quiet, independent and litterbox trained. She loves to be brushed (her long fur needs to be groomed), and doesn't even mind taking baths or having her nails clipped.
I believe Sophia is a pure breed -- she has tannish-gray long fur and her points are black. She has big blue eyes, big paws and a flat face. I am looking for a new home for her because I already have 2 small dogs, and she is TERRIFIED of them. She hasn't come out from under the bed in days and she won't eat. She needs to be in a home with no other pets (doesn't get along with other cats either). She would ! be perfect for an older person who just wants a companion animal. She will go to her new home with everything she needs (litterbox/litter, brush, food, catnip, carrier). Please email me if you have questions, or would like to adopt her. I need to find a home for her this week, or she will have to go to a shelter (for her sanity and mine!)Please email Sara at [email protected]

Manhattan, NY: David is a four year old bluepoint Siamese who is very smart and loves to be with people. He would make a great companion for someone who is home a lot. He loves to sit on your lap and even get under the covers for the night. He would probably be best as an only cat in the family. He is a very engaging fellow, and likes men and women. He used to go outdoors in California when he was two years old - sometimes traveling onto the neighbor's roof or inviting himself into someone's car when they opened the door. He's just fine as an apartment dweller nowadays, doing his exploring up on top of the kitchen cabinets. He is vocal in the morning, and lets you know when he is hungry. He is athletic and has taught himself to pee in the toilet. He hasn't lived together with any dogs as of yet. He is doing well with another male cat after a very difficult adjustment, but still is not doing well with the female cat in household. If interested, please email Nancy at [email protected].

| 2004-06-03 | My mother just died, and we have to find a home for her 2 beloved
seal-point Siamese cats: Shayna and Molly. They are 14 year-old sisters, classically neurotic wedgehead Siamese, with breeder registry
papers. They disdain people in general and often hide but will bond with one person, as they did with my mom. Throughout our 13 1/2 years
with them she was the only person they would allow to touch them and they LOVED her. They would cuddle with her, sit on her lap, come when
she called and vocalize. My father, however, was persona non grata to them! (Which is why he feels he cannot keep them.) They need to go as
a pair because they are very close to one another. The cats are in good health and they have their claws. I believe they will warm up to the

Norwalk, CT: Tortiepoint Siamese female in desperate need! Hattie has been at our shelter since July of last year and we have tried everything we can think of to try to place her ourselves. She was found as a stray and brought to PAWS. She was extremely agitated & aggressive at PAWS when housed in a room with other loose cats. We then tried putting her in a room that had other cats but each cat was in their own cage. That didn't work so we tried putting her in a room by herself away from all other cats. That didn't work. So, we now have her in a foster home where she has finally settled down to some degree but that situation is less than ideal for the rest of her life because the foster home has other cats & has to keep her separate. She really deserves a home where she can be out & about. I've attached some photos of her. She does pick who she likes and has fallen in LOVE with the husband of the foster parent. Here is what her foster home has reported about her: Hattie is a 14 year old spayed female Siamese. She is a talker and is polydactyl Hattie appears to have been abused. The vet can not find a clear neurological problem but that doesn't mean much. Hattie can be moody or as we call it has "cat-titude". She also hates hands probably as a result of whatever abuse she has suffered. You can put your hands behind your back and bend over and kiss her head. But when you put a plate of food in front of her and she sees your hands she growls or hisses. Hattie is on amotryptoline twice a day to calm her. The jell is placed in the inside of her ear. She loves the attention and purrs while you are rubbing it in. She can stay on this for the rest of her life. Hattie needs a very calm quiet home with no other animals. She is a quiet and timid cat. She is typically solitary but does enjoy a limited amount of affection. Over stimulation can be an issue. When she is comfortable you can brush and pet her. Hattie loves to sit on her chair and drink up the sun. She does curl up on the bed next to John sometimes too! Despite still having issues, she has made great progress and in a home where she can move about freely, will make more. As a side note, when I bring Hattie to the vet to get her nails trimmed, she purrs and is the perfect angle. They love her at A Cat's Place! She purred the entire time Dr. Hinsley was giving her a neurological exam! The other issue we have just discovered with Hattie is that she is starting to suffer from renal disease. She gets fluids a few times a week to manage the illness. As you can see, we have our hands full with Miss Hattie but we know there is a home for her somewhere out there. It is heartbreaking for me to give him up, but i have recently gotten a job which requires me to travel. ********** ADOPTED! **********
