DATE-POSTED CAT DESCRIPTION and CONTACT INFORMATIONPICTURE
2003-12-19 ********** ADOPTED! **********New Brunswick, NJ: Gatsby is a 7 year old, beautiful , Siamese boy with a sweet personality. His young owner, who was a volunteer and rescuer, passed away this past year and Gatsby lost his best friend. Meanwhile, the other cats in the house have been ganging up on him and won't leave him alone, so that he spends most of the time at the top of his cat tree to keep away from them. Gatsby is fine with other cats, it may take him a bit to get used to them, since he has been tormented so often by them recently. He is also used to being around dogs. We are looking for a wonderful home for this sweet boy, so that his mom can somehow know that he is being well cared for and loved. For more information, please email Sandy at ********** ADOPTED! **********.
2003-12-11Staten Island, NY: A snowshoe male named "Blue Eyes" who is is 3 to 4 years old, loves to chase his tail, and is very sweet! Blue Eyes is great with other cats and rather laid back most of the time. For more information, please email Joann at Feline Rescue of Staten Island at [email protected].
2003-12-11Staten Island, NY: A tortie Ragdoll (longhaired Siamese-related breed) named Jinx. This BRIGHT blue eyed beauty had to be shaved down toher skin because she was turned into the pound so matted she couldn't move, the poor thing! This sweet kitty is feeling much better albeit rather drafty, and needs a human with a bit of imagination to adopt her while her coat grows back in. For more information, please email Joann at Feline Rescue of Staten Island at [email protected].
2003-11-03Staten Island, NY: An abandoned sealpoint siamese female who seems friendly and willing to be held. Please contact Pat at [email protected] for more information.
2003-10-30ST. Albans, Vermont: An abandoned Siamese 3 year old neutered male who is very frightened at the shelter -- Franklin County Humane Society in St. Albans Vermont. This sealpoint boy with lovely blue eyes was born 9/15/00, and his pedigree is available for the sire and dam. It seems his owner died and both he and another domestic cat were brought to the Shelter by a neighbor. Please contact Holly - 802/524-9650, or email Susan at [email protected].
2003-10-07Chautauqua County, NY (between Buffalo, NY and Erie, PA): Monica is young and small (less than 10 pounds) - no more than 1 year probably, but that is a guess, as she was rescued from the local humane society. She is a seal snowshoe with white gloves and a "V" on her face - a dark smudge on her nose and a tan smudge on her chin; blue eyes; wonderful disposition with adults, children, my dogs (which are small - they are Schipperkes), and the foster kittens. She may enjoy being an only cat - not sure about that - or need a gradual introduction to your cat. She does love attention and is very affectionate with any people she's met. She is spayed and has rabies and distemper shots. If you're less than two hours from Chautauqua County, please email Chris at [email protected].
2003-09-24Rochester, NY: Jewels is a beautiful declawed spayed Sealpoint Siamese who doesn't get along with one of the cats in her current home but is great with dogs. They play chase all the time. She chases the dog and then the dog will follow her as she runs off. When the dog turns back to me, Jewels sneaks up from behind and whacks her.She loves people, everyone! Please email [email protected].
2003-09-09Manhattan, NY - Sooky is a beautiful RUDDY Abbysinian who is 5 years old, spayed, and current on vaccines. This VERY smart girl loves to play with bottle caps by kicking them back and forth! Sooky responds to her name and to the words dinner and turkey. This friendly feline does not like to sit on laps but rubs against you or dances on you when you recline. She sleeps in her own area by choice, and is accustomed to being an only cat in a quiet home. Sooky loves to watch you and usually comes when called. This agile jumper is ever curious and into everything. She loves all food and is currently on Wellness dry and canned diet; her favorite treat is turkey. SOOKY IS IN A SPECIAL SITUATION: her owner has fatal cancer and would like to find a new home for the beautiful Sooky with special provisions. The owner would like to benefit from Sooky's company for as long as possible in the coming months, and so is seeking a patient future owner who might be able to visit Sooky in the interim to ease her planned transition. If you might be this special party, please email Elaine at [email protected]. Thank you!
2003-09-02Queens, NY - A brother and sister Chocolate Burmese cats, please let me know. A woman in Queens has them and her 18 year old cat does not get along with them. For more information, please email Brenda at [email protected].

She loved the attention of a the family's older daughter, and would be fine with the children in her new home. Ally is already spayed and declawed. 2003-04-23Astoria, NY: Amanda is looking for someone to help heal her breaking heart. This 11 year old affectionate girl needs to find a new home by May as her OWNER is dying of cancer. 2003-04-13Somerset, NJ: Gabby is a very beautiful Siamese with the most incredible blue eyes. I will try to get a better photograph of her in the very near future. Gabby was surrendered to the shelter after being with her family for 14 years. She loves people and can really talk up a storm. She prefers to be the only cat with humans as her sole companions. She will purr for you and talk on just about any topic you choose. Can you give her the comfort of a home and lots of lovin' during her special years? Somerset Regional Animal Shelter, Bridgewater, NJ, 908-725-0308, [email protected]
2003-04-11 ********** ADOPTED! **********York, PA: A 2 year old Sealpoint Siamese male was brought into a vet's office after being found with his leg in a trap. The operation to amputate his leg and take care of him medically (neuter, vaccinations) will be $400, and then a local rescuer will find him a home. If you can help or if anyone would like to send donations they would go to : Community Animal Hospital, 400 S Pine St, York, Pa 17403, in c/o Beth and the siamese leg-hold trap kitty. This littleboy has been adopted!.
2003-04-11 New Jersey: Lilith is a petite blue point snowshoe mix. Lilith needs a home with no other dogs or cats. She needs a quiet home where she can have some one-on-one time with her human. She is very loving, but a little shy at first. Please consider giving this loving girl a home. Lilith has has tested negative for FeLV and FIV. She is up to date on all her shots and is in very good health. Her eyes are a little sensitive to light so she gets watery eyes from time to time. The vet says this is normal in light eyed cats and that she is fine. Lilith was like a little puppy who followed us around butting her head on my leg to get pet. She was NOT an in your face cat, though. Once she had enough, she became a little aloof. While I was there I did see the behavior she exhibited with the other cats (2 males). She growls and swats at them when they get to close. She also feels like she needs to be on higher ground when the other cats are in the same room. She just lets them know she doesn't like for them to get too close. This is causing Deanna to be a little nervous. She would prefer Lilith had a home with no other cats to minimize Lilith's obvious stress. This is especially true since she seems to get into a bad mood once she growls and pretty much is untouchable to human or feline. Please contact Deanna at 908-578-4273.
2003-04-10Queens, New York: 2 Beautiful Siamese Snowshoe cats need a new home in the next two weeks. Due to sudden family health issues, we must part ways with our wonderful cats, Teamu and Pavel. They are LOVEABLE, great with KIDS and are great SOCIAL companions. Please contact either Jen or Rich if interested or for more information at: 718-423-5799
2003-04-08Manhattan, New York: If anyone has a suggestion, please contact Eleanor Cohen at [email protected]. There is the most wonderful pair of senior cats that will need at least a foster home in the very near future. It could be a matter of days or weeks. Heidi, a perfectly gorgeous 12 -13 year old silver tabby female, and Murph, a most handsome seal-point semi-long hair snowshoe 16 year old guy will have to find a new place. The party who has been fostering them since their person left town is now terminally ill. They take no medication, look half their respective ages and are loving, sweet, very friendly and perfectly beautiful. They are declawed in front. They will be vetted prior to going to a new home and their food and vet expenses will be covered. They have been very unlucky. Their original person left them in the care of his brother and went to work in the mid-East. The brother put them at a vet where they lived in the basement for months and finally took them into his own home only to decide to pick up stakes and go the the west coast. We found a place for them with a gentleman who has provided them with a lot of love but has now become too ill to care for them. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks. Eleanor [email protected]

2003-03-29Campbell Hall, New York. Campbell Hall is in Orange County which is approximately 1.5 hours outside of NYC. I have an 8 year old male Blue Pointe Siamese cat that I would desperately like to find a new home. He is an indoor/outdoor cat. He is very, very vocal. He meows to go out, he meows to come in, etc. I am a single Mom and have a 2-1/2 year old "special needs" child. I have not had the time nor the desire to care for this cat for the last 2-1/2 years. Therefore he has been very neglected. He has also become afraid of people. I think with a patient caring person, he can be turned around. His name is Silver and I have included a photo. email Michelle at [email protected]

2003-02-17Granby, CT: Do you have a quiet home and a good lap? My name is Mineaux, I love to be petted and I live in Granby, CT. I'm afraid of other animals and active children, as they make me run to my bed! I'm an applehead seal point, have 14 years of wisdom and weigh in at a svelte 10 pounds - and I'm declawed and am indoors only. I'm up to date on my shots with my distemper due before long. I'm waiting to adore you (and vice versa!), so write to Kimberly at [email protected] to find out more about me.
2003-02-17Naugatuck, CT : Snickers in Naugatuck, CT is looking for a new home. He's a 1-year-old neutered Blue Point Mix (father seal; mother blue pt. mix). He is curious, cute and playful, has no behavioral issues and he loves to eat. He'll eat anything you put in front of him, including tomatoes! He gets along with the resident Rottweiler but the other resident cat just doesn't play enough for him. Because Snickers is front declawed, he needs to be an indoor cat. He's healthy and up to date on his shots. Call Jim for more information at: 203-720-0626.

2003-02-15 Canton, CT: I just got a call from Animal Friends of CT about a nice (approximate) 8 year old Blue Lynx Point neutered boy from Canton, CT. They took him in when the feeder called to tell them he was moving and could no longer feed this cat. Arthur has been living outside for at least 4 years but was once somebody’s kitty. He is very loving and friendly and is vocal right now because he is feeling nervous about all the changes. Currently he is being kept in a cage at a vet’s office.
