| Welcome to Haven, an rpg dedicated to the existence of supernatural beings in NYC. At this time the rpg is under new management and the site is under construction. However, it is still running. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The bar itself is so nondescript it's almost suspicious. The few humans who actually do enter tend to meet an untimely and... messy end. The bar has three entrances, as long as you don't count dramatic entrances through windows. The front entrace is at the bottom of a short flight of stairs that run off the sidewalk, as the bar itself is in the basement level of the four story building. There is also a back entrance from the alley in the back that leads into the kitchen, though the flight of stairs accompanying this door are inside the building. The third entrance is the most useful to the nocturnal patrons of Haven. This would be the underground entrance, which patrons can reach through the system of tunnels under the city's streets. This entrance is located in a corner next to the bar, and is an open stairway leading down ten feet or so to a metal door, which opens up into the underground system. While the basement floor serves as the bar itself, the first three floors above it serve a different purpose. These floors have been graciously offered by the bar's owner as free to any creature that would need them. Despite the swank interior of the bar, the rooms are sparsely furnished and plain, though their usefullness outweighs their style. The top floor is the owner's private apartment. Once inside, it would take normal human eyes quite a bit of time to adjust to the dim light, if they do at all. The sparse illumination is from lack of necessity. Most of the creatures here can fare perfectly fine in complete darkness. The few lights that shine from the walls and at tables are merely to entice possible victims, leading them to believe that this is a normal bar. Lushly furnished in deep red velvet and dark wood, the interior is more than comfortable. Various tables are provided as an alternative to the long bar in the back, and, in a dim corner, a herd of comfortable couches and armchairs huddle. Deeply stained wood bookshelves line one of the walls, and contain a myriad of assorted literature. Among the elegant furniture and decorations are a few more modern commodities. On the wall in the lounge area is a grandly sized flat-screen TV, complete with a sleek DVD player. In various corners of the bar are hidden speakers, each connected to the bar's sound system. Depending on who is fiddling with the base at the time, the CD player or radio can be pumping out anything from classical to heavy metal. Darkened stairs towards the back lead up to the first floor of apartments. Behind the bar is the kitchen, which tends to be a free for all as far as getting food is concerned. If you see it and you want it you take it. It's usually very well stocked with necessities such as raw meat, though it is not unusual to see someone leave the kitchen with a newly opened tub of ice cream. And the bar, while it is a one-story basement affair, has rafters. We do not know why. We just accept it. Embrace the madness. right now the bartender is an NPC and can be assumed to be there pretty much all the time. |
