okay.. i was watching this movie.. (the Body, which was an excellent movie with a very interesting concept.. which i'll talk about later) but anyway.. this movie took place in Jerusalem.. and as i'm watching this movie.. this really interesting thought came to mind about ancient cities.. cities that have been around since the dawn of civilization.. and still thrive today.. cities that have simply always been.. and my thought was this.. do you think it's possible for these cities to have taken on their own kind of energies.. don't laugh! expand your mind for a minute and take into account the ruins that stand side by side next to the modern buildings.. the ancient cobblestone streets.. the walkways.. the paths that have born the steps of countless people through the ages.. morning to night.. over and over again.. the commerce.. the trading and the bartering.. the voices.. the rhythms of the city itself must at some point have sunk into the very ground that bares it.. and that energy.. or in the very least.. the memories of energies.. the recorded energies of it's history.. become the spirit of the city. and yes, i'm talking in some ways a moving.. growing.. breathing.. living spirit of the city.. the spirit of jerusalem.. the spirit of cairo.. the spirit of rome and of crete! each imprinted with their own unique rhythms.. their own breathing patterns.. their very own energies that they attract and give off. and if every building, road.. every brick and piece of stone were to be torn down and drug off of that piece of land.. the dust that remain.. the bare earth.. would hold the spirit of the city.. as if it were a being in and of itself. -pocket
