Prologue

“Okay everyone!  Tomorrow is the day for our last fieldtrip of the year!” Mr. Rey said excitedly as he scanned the room looking at the dull faces on each and every one of the students.  “Come on!  Aren’t you guys even a bit excited?  We’re going to the largest museum in history!”

“Sure whatever.” Bobby answered with a monotone voice.

“Seriously, who will want to go to a museum anyways?” Alice whispered as she turned around to face her not-so-entertained friends.  “We should go to some kind of water park or somewhere fun and interesting.  What’s worse is that the whole school is going together!”  Alice gave a long sigh.

“Well maybe it won’t be that bad….” Lora started.  “MAYBE!  Maybe means that this is going to be the worse trip ever.” Bobby interrupted.

“What are you saying?  You don’t make any sense.” Tina slapped Bobby hard on the head.

**********************************(Next Day)

“HHAAAAMM” Lora yawned. “I should’ve stayed home today, but my Mom kicked me out the house.  I wish this trip will just get cancelled or something so we can go home early and sleep some more.

“Yea don’t we all.” Richard said tiredly.

“Guess what!” Mr. Rey walked over to the group of friends. “I have bad news, the trip is cancelled…!  I’m just joking.

“Why you!  Stop getting our hopes up!” Catherine tackled the teacher down and started to clobber him.

Ten buses soon arrived and they could see that there was more coming.  The ten of them climbed onto the same bus for company and the bus was soon filled with chatters and unusual noises made by unusual people.  They shortly arrived at their destination and hopped out of the bus to stand in front of a gigantic structure, which looked like it was thousands of years old.  The teachers managed to arrive quickly enough to settle all the students down and separated them into groups.

“Lets go in already.” Michelle said and she walked up the gigantic staircase with everyone following her.  She entered the museum as the automatic door slid open.  The air in the museum was musky and damp with a strange olden odor to it.

“Is it just me or does this place smell really nasty.” Tina spoke silently so no one in the museum could have heard her.

“No it’s not just you.” Lucy answered in the same silent voice.

The group walked through many hallways in the palace-like building and ended up in a room where the light dimmed to almost nothing and in the center of the room there was a glass case.  Within that case was a small grayish object that they couldn’t really make out.  They walked towards the case and looked at the sign on it.

“Dreamstone.  Please do not touch the glass case or the alarm will set off.”  Mandy read the words carefully.  “Hm… this is a nice stone.  It's all rainbow colored.”

Then out of nowhere a person dressed in all black fell from the ceiling and broke the glass case.  He quickly grabbed the precious stone in his gloved hands and ran for it.

“THIEF!  THIEF!  PANIC!  PANIC!”  Bobby screamed and started running around the room. “HE’S STEALING THE STONE!  SOMEBODY KNOCK ME OUT!  KNOCK ME OUT SO THE THIEF WILL THINK I’M DEAD AND WON’T TAKE ME AS HOSTAGE!”

“SHUT UP!  Are you stupid or something?” Aoi screamed back at him.

The alarm obviously went off while the thief was getting away and he was stopped when he bumped into a few guards by the doorway.  The stone flew out of his hands and into the air.

“THE ROCK IS FALLING!  AHHH!!” Bobby started to scream again and everybody scrambled to catch the stone.  Fortunately, Lora caught the stone, but when she was coming down she created a domino effect and knocked everyone to the floor.  Then there was a flash of light.  A warm, bright, and colorful light that lit up the entire room.  The light slowly faded and the stone dropped to the ground and rolled under a table with caveman paintings on it.  The room was empty and there were no signs that the ten friends had been there.  They had vanished from the face of the Earth.
