Chapter 12

Find a Way!

* Please proofread!! ^ ^

Bobby, Michelle, Catherine, Tina, and Jeeya sat at the dining table looking down at their untouched dinner.  All of them lost in thoughts about where Lora was or how they could save her.  It was Jeeya who broke the unnecessary silence amongst them.

“Okay, let’s have our meal first and then we can think of a way together.  If we don’t eat, no matter how good the plan is we won’t have the energy carry it out.” Jeeya forced a convincing smile on his face.  The others agreed silently and started to eat their dinner.

Soon after the dishes were cleaned the five of them sat in the living room, depressed as they can ever get.

“How could this happen?  Nothing like this has happened before!” Catherine said angrily.  “And even worst!  She was kidnapped in the washroom!  Who knows what happened in there!”

“I'm pretty sure nothing happened.” Tina choked on the water that she was drinking. “And even if something did happen, I rather not think about it.”

“Come on!  Let’s concentrate on thinking of an idea to save her!” Bobby said desperately. “The kidnapper is probably long gone by now and if we don’t think of a plan soon who knows where he will go!”

“Let’s just all go out and find her now!” Michelle suggested.

“If we look as a group we won’t be able to cover enough areas and if we go as individuals it’ll be too dangerous.” Jeeya said calmly.

“How can you be so calm at a time like this!” Catherine shouted at the old man.

“Hold on.  I think I know who kidnapped her.” Jeeya said suddenly.

“Well isn’t it obvious?  The Night Stalkers did!” Bobby said.

“If you know why didn’t you tell me sooner?!” Jeeya stood up from the chair he was in.

“Well I thought all of you knew since it was SO obvious.” Bobby replied.

“Yes we all know.” The others all said in unison.

“Ah whatever.” Jeeya gave up. “I think I know where the nearest hideout is.  I’ve been studying which direction the Night Stalkers have been coming into the village from and which direction they left.  A few times, I even followed them.  But they were to quick for me and I lost them every time.”

“Well why don’t we get going then!” Tina rushed everyone out of the house.

Jeeya led the way to the entrance of the village, which is basically all wrecked and the gate had been burnt down.  They headed into a deep forest where it was too dark for any of them to see.  The only way they can find each other was by talking or holding on to each other.

“Don’t make such a loud noise.  The creatures that live in this forest don’t like to be disturbed.”  Jeeya told them as they walked deeper into the darkness.

“I’m scared.” Bobby said grabbing on to someone’s shirt.

“Loosen your grip will you?  You’re going to rip my shirt!” Catherine barked behind her.

            “Shh…!” The other silenced her.

“Hold on just a bit more.” Jeeya said to the following bunch.  “Argh!” Jeeya abruptly fell to the ground with loud crackling noises from the dry leaves.

“Are you okay?” Michelle asked. “Where are you?”

“I think a snake bit me.” Jeeya said, gasping for air. “You’re almost there.  I’ll be alright, you guys go on ahead.”

“But…” Tina started but was cut off.

“You have to go save your friend or who knows what will happen to her.” Jeeya shoved the four of them away.

“It’s not like we don’t want to, but,” Bobby pointed towards the dark trees, “what is that?”
